it's entirely possible that Undertale takes place in the future of a fantasy RPG world, which lost its fantasy characteristics after the monsters were permanently locked up ... or not, I think the game deliberately never answers that question so you can decide for yourself what is the truth and whether you tell Undyne a lie

also in the game source files, there's a [SPELL] button sprite that never got used, so I think that at some point Toby wanted to let you cast magic too

The orchestral attempts really do demonstrate how hard it is to do good orchestral music. It's easy enough to simply pull a midi into fruity loops and change the instruments and timing but there's really a lot more to it than that.

Asgore Orchestral Suite is nice.

The best part is that it's people who have no idea what it is and have never played it, have decided they hate it because another bunch of angry gamers have told them to hate it. I've seen it called an SJW game or something which is enough to stir the rage.

I've seen some sperglord writing out a big wall of text about how the simple fact that it's an indie game with a single developer means it's apparently not logically possible for it to be better than a AAA game.

I'd actually consider 6 (or Chrono Trigger, which was in a different bracket) to be a contender with undertale but 7 was just a fuckin' grind and the villain was a generic anumu goth ladyboy

At least it wasn't 8 so it's got that going for it
