hatchets should embed.
there should be a list of all embeddable objects too.
There's only four items in the whole game that can embed when thrown afaik, which is spears, glass shards, throwing stars, and eswords.

they can, but they have to be thrown by an explosion
it used to be that pretty much any item that could embed at all could embed if you threw them, but this led to some silly shit such as being able to take the pen out of your PDA and throwing it into someone's brain

Mostly this would be for assistant's use at the public garden.
Except its a lot easier to get bluespace beakers for a prox-triggered mega-grenade than it is to acquire the enormous amount of corn you need to reach a similar yield.
Not if you're any good at botany, seriously. You'd still need to shit out a tonne of bananas to get a bluespace beaker's worth of potassium, and you need only slightly more corn oil for the nitroglycerin, which only requires large beakers - something good botanists will be getting tonnes of at round start anyway. Science is fairly unlikely to give you the 4 bluespace beakers you need if you want more than 1 grenade, whereas getting an extra 2 large beakers is easy as piss and also doesn't require someone actually doing RnD.
I might be a bit out of the loop but I'm pretty sure nitroglycerine requires some pretty heavy chemistry work that is outside the realm of botanists and squarely in the "don't let anyone catch you making this" territory of chemistry.

i think botanists are able to get everything but (ironically) potassium unless there's a plant with potassium that i dont know about

Botany can get fluorsulphuric acid from death nettles, sulphuric acid from nettles, and corn oil from corn.
Sulphuric acid and fluorosulphuric acid aren't a problem with quantity at all when you get 100 potency, because each nettle will give you 50u of each acid.
You don't need potassium (or for that matter, fluorine or hydrogen or heat) unless you're making the fluorosulphuric acid from scratch - unnecessary with deathnettles.
I know you can definitely make almost max-cap nades (4/10/20) just from botany - I've bombed the shit out of basil once with three of them.
Silavite wrote:What is the largest possible size explosion possible from sodium + water? Is it limited by the bomb cap?
yep
but mostly it's limited by how water/potassium you can fit into your containers though, which unless you can get bluespace beakers is usually only 100u of each
If you can get R&D done as traitor, maxcap grenades are hysterical. Toss a motion sensitive one at the brig entrance and run, then laugh when it explodes a second later. Be the warboy of legend.

Does anyone have a guide or something to opening the Deca-Code lock on that one crate at mining? I can never seem to get the damn thing open. I know to click it with a multitool after each attempt but I'm terrible at the codebreaker solving.

Just put it between you and a goliath. The goliath will break it on the way to hitting you.
In game, I play the A.I Firmware, the French cyborg C.U.R.I.E, Aubrie Allen, and the lizard scum Skulks-Through-Maintenance.
Is it just the higher-lower thing with 10 possible numbers still?
To solve those problems, always start in the exact middle of the range, then pick the quarters, eighths, 16ths and so on in the appropriate direction until you zero in on it.
So start with 5. If it's lower, pick 3 next, if it's higher, pick 8.
If it ain't 5, 3, or 8 then you've got a 50-50 shot when you choose from 1-2, 4, 6-7, or 9-0 depending on what your second digit and higher-lower was.

No, it's a 4-digit code. You input it, then you use a multitool and it tells you how many correct digits in the correct place you have and how many correct digits in the incorrect place you have. You get 10 attempts before the crate self-destructs.

Dude, its waaay faster to 1. use gibtonite 2. trick a goliath into walking into the crate. both insta break it.
They can use the Summon Bot menu to send it to locations, which moves them as well. It's clunky, but it works; and remember, if you can get an engiborg to disable the safeties, you can run people over with it. Bullets and lasers will hit the MULEbot instead of the AI, too.
or just put it next to some gibtonite and blow it open
also, im pretty sure those crates are bugged, sometimes they're just not possible to open because the code will be invalid (unless that got fixed i dont remember)
Just drag one behind you until you find a goliath or some shit. Put it between the both of you, then aggro it. The mob will then punch the crate open and the stuff will fall out.

Whenever a ghost hits "Yes", it puts them into a pool of candidates that the game chooses randomly from after a set amount of time. Some stuff functions differently; namely, drone and swarmer shells as well as posibrains simply accept the first person to enter.

Is there any way to negate low pressure damage (ie, from space) other than using a spacesuit/hardsuit or getting a few styptic powder patches before venturing out?
I know that genetics has cold resistance, and virology has self respiration, but how does one get rid of the low pressure damage?

Apart from using healing chems to counteract the damage it's doing? Getting fully augmented will give you pressure immunity and you won't take cold damage, but you'll still get the slowdown (And it's a LOT).

Yes. Theres two modes, one that does a quick stun and one that has to be held down to cause immediate cardiac arrest. I believe its based on whether you're in disarm or harm intent.

It's worth noting that the disarm intent stun doesn't keep them down for long enough for your defib to recharge, so you can't chainstun or use the cardiac arrest off of it.
Does the amount of damage you receive from overpressure/overheating scale directly with the pressure/temperature?
