Good news, you guys get to help me.

I'm going to start midly playing on Bay, because I meta friend with Secret, but I'm running into some issues trying to make August work in their lore.

When I originally created August I was like, 10, and in my own lore his company dominates half of the galaxy. Entire solar systems live in happy little bubbles where he controls the media, food, and everything, other systems are entirely slave labor, and it's all fueled by Big Brother esq monitoring. The only opposition to this monster is the freedom fighters, led by Laura and Clark Mcoy, dun dun dun dun sci-fi rif

In /tg/ lore, Finster Corp is just a really big company that bribes Centcom to stay in business. Owns 6 planets, pretty much all just slave worlds.

How can I make him work in Bay lore? I'm thinking about giving him a fake backstory, as if he's hiding who he is, but even then I can't have Finster Corp because of their reasons.

You could go the Kenzie route which is shes from a ridiculously wealthy family and has inherited her fortune. Theres a lot more to her story but thats about the jist of it that anyone cares about.

If she did have her own business it would probably be a small robotics repair shop or maybe a nonprofit organization for silicons since she has the financial backing.

Rich people are boring as shit; You can solve all problems IC by waving your hand and saying "I'm rich lmao!". Characters from poorer backgrounds have a) Better accents b) Better life stories.
Anyway, does anyone else speak differently if they're in a head/security position? When I'm playing Frank as an assistant or botanist or some shit I speak with an accent but when I'm in a head role I speak without one because PPROFOFEISONAL.

the station is, given the required amount of competency, almost self-sufficient.

We have vending machines- and we have staff who regard it as a rare pleasure to actually be able to cook food from things the station has grown and have station crew eat it. Miners will willingly go out to the asteroid like lemmings and bring back valuable materials to research for not much in return, if not nothing. Nanotrasen has somehow made money irrelevant on their stations with only primitive bartering markets set up by assistants every now and then.

Enough money can solve any problem, literally any problem you could possibly have.

Batman could fix Gotham if he didn't have a thing for dressing up in tights and beating poor people up. Green Arrow could do much the same if he wasn't also an asshole.

If I had billions of dollars I would create the single greatest team of scientists the world has ever seen and have them solve the problem of me not living forever. Then effective distributions methods to end world hunger using a bunch of engineers and logistics guys. Then world domination with some PR guys.

Unless both your parents are shot dead or you blow your entire trustfund on hookers and blow your story isn't going to be that interesting.

Now poor people becoming rich, they make for an interesting story, like Lindsay Fox.

There's several lines in the code that hint at NT being a greedy, wealthy corporation, at least in the eyes of the syndicate. The syndicate are, surprise surprise, not exactly entirely all that bad since they're basically cyberpunk warriors taking down an oppressive megacorp

I tried making another female character after Laura, because by God if you remember Laura you know why she's gone, and it just wasn't working.
I don't know why, but I just can't think of any interesting female characters. I don't want to just have a cutesy generic bright haired uggu princess who can "hang with the boys" because she's rough and tough, but when I try and brainstorm nothing comes to me.
Bringing Finster into SS13 after ditching Laura was one of my better choices.

Finster was poor and lived in a Church in exchange for assisting there, but then his boxing career took off and 70 years later he's atop a throne of wealth he had to fight for.
He's tried as hard as he can to forget about being poor, going so far as to build his first factory planet headquarters on top of a freshly burned down Church.
Maybe he'd be more interesting if he was bitter, miserable, and alone, I don't know.

Finster works in exchange for a very reduced pay, which he insisted on.
Though he makes money selling blueprints, hand teleporters, Centcom documents and secrets, that sort of thing. He doesn't need the money, business meetings just bore him.
