DEMOCRACY RETURNS: REVENGE OF THE DECISION

OH HOLY FUCKING SHIT WE ONLY HAVE ONE NON-APPOINTED HEADMIN AND MSO AND I THINK IT'S ABOUT TIME FOR SOME FUCKING DEMOCRACY TO SHAKE UP THE STATE OF THIS GOD DAMN SERVER(s)

We've all done this before, as you should be aware by now, THIS ELECTIONS WILL BE DIFFERENT (https://tgstation13.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=3414)

THERE WILL BE A TRIUMVIRATE, ONE HEADMIN WILL BE DECIDED BY THE PLAYERS, ONE HEADMIN WILL BE DECIDED BY THE ADMINS, AND THEN ONE WILDCARD ADMIN THAT MSO HASN'T FULLY DECIDED HOW WILL BE CHOSEN (yet).

The players and admins will choose from the SAME POOL OF CANDIDATES. If you want to be in the pool you must make your candidate thread, following the system we have already gone through already.

The election will probably happen mid-September. There may or may not be a server vote as well to shorten term lengths to 4 months (because almost no one has made it past that yet).

AND REMEMBER,

VOTE OR DIE.

The election will be run by the conspiracy triumvirate of MSO (our host), myself (the self appointed chief electoral officer) and oranges (the King of the Players).

PLAYER VOTE RUN OFF HAPPENING BETWEEN NIK AND LOLLER. ADMIN VOTE WAS FOR AUSOPS. MSO HAS CHOSEN JORDIE TO BE THE HOST VOTE HEADMIN.

I'd love to nominate myself, but...Hell. I know I haven't been that active lately. Also I do agree with Niknak : the endorsement system is stupid, and is akin to a popularity contest (but ain't that the point of democracies?)

Who I would want to endorse? Heeeerm...Let me think about this first.

- HBL : Has proven himself in the past in my opinion. Haven't seen him in a while tho.
- Ikkarus : Not sure if he'll run, but he's among my top choices, so here we go.
- Goofball : He seems to want to go for it, so might as well give him a chance. He generally means well, he's just a goof - tho at the same time, I might question his ability to admin.
- RemieRichards : This one I'm more reserved on. Remie is INCREDIBLY good at coding, and adminship (or above all, heaminship, for god's sake) would probably be a burden.
- Anon3 : Honk.
- Ausops : As far as I saw, he seems to be fit for the job.
- TheLongBowman : Same thins as Ausops.

EDIT : I was thinking about endorsing 2beard as a joke, but then I'd rather NOT have a joke spiraling out of fukken control.

I nominate RemieRichards. She codes interesting and good things, is not corrupted by bias, and seems to fair in judging PRs. She appears to genuinely have interest in improving the game, without forcing it into a controversial direction or making ill-advised overarching changes for the sake of change. What I would seek in a candidate is someone that can listen to the players, keep a cool head, and not overreact to the screams of a vocal minority. There is no perfect candidate present, but RemieRichards is the closest we have.

I would also like to mention phil, who works wonders in cleaning up the worst of the code. Aside from a nasty tendency to slip nerfs into his larger PRs as part of a "fix", he is an amazing and usually impartial coder.

I approve of a singular pool, because otherwise douchers that are near universally disliked by the playerbase can coast into power on the circlejerk, the term 'circle jerk' I don't use in earnest, just as an easy term to coin for talking about admins natural and understandable tendency to support eachother.

Go beg MSO for the third headmin position to be set aside for forum moderators bwahahahaha
then you might have a fighting chance. (For the love of god don't ACTUALLY do that)

RemieRichards still nice, still competent, still beter than HG.
Goofball while his chemitry may be bad at least hes trying to ADD things to the server instead of gutting security oriented roles.

Just pointing out that any serious ;^) headmin candidates who are currently players are free to ask for tempminning from myself and possibly other admintrainers/gamemasters/headmins because it will suck for you and others to be thrown into the deep end with headmin duties without any admin experience beforehand.

Because we have so few candidates/potentially interested admins, and because the three candidates we do have all seem to have endorsed each other. Also because we may shorten terms to 4 months, I am considering running to shake things up. If I do this I'll resign as CEO and pass the mantle to oranges. We'll see how things look on Monday.
