labour camp rework

Post by CPTANT » #108434

Currently the labour camp is almost unused. I tried to make some changes to see if I could improve the camp a bit. Its just a concept for now and all the wires/pipes and some other stuff would have to be fixed.

First of all the location of the security office is changed so it will be actually used for a change without getting either mugged or walled off without a way of getting out.

Second I want to add a locker room so there is actually a way to store the stuff of inmates so you don't have to toss their stuff somewhere randomly in the brig.

Also An airlock leading to the locker room that should be accessible with an id that has enough points gathered. The conveyor spaces you if you try to lay down to fit more people in, which should be a lovely cruel joke.

Since reclaiming points should now be done near the processing line itself instead of the shuttle, the gathered mineral go to the locker room by disposals where they can be collected.

Like I said its a concept, so feel free to share your opinions.

Why are you even going down to the gulag as an officer?

It's meant to work without nevevr actually having to go down there.

This change removes that convenience.

Uhm prisoners can't move the shuttle so you have to at least bring them over.

You're meant to leave them on the shuttle and move the shuttle for them with the console on the dock.

Well maybe that can be improved upon so people can just go check on the people there without having to fight them all.

There is literally nothing wrong with the gulag itself.
It performs its intended functions.

The brig side on the otherhand, could use some work.
There needs to be personal lockers (bolted to the floor like the brig ones) in the lower room, so officers can store prisoners shit in them, using their prisoner ID.
That way released prisoners can access their stuff and only their stuff.

The button to exit said lower room needs to be replaced with something that eats your prisoner ID instead.
Currently prisoners just throw their prison ID away/keep it/eat it.

Cameras don't cover anything and given you want to actually put people there who are criminals if actually put into common use the gulag could have fights occurring in it you might want to stop also you know personal touch.

I'll just say again that Gulag as a timed thing is dumb and always will be dumb.

Redesign it as a one way trip for the carrots and you might actually see it get used.

Oh. Black hoods would be a good addition to security's kit. Maybe if you could just put a satchel over someone's head.
