Your side of the story: My side of the story is complicated. When I first started playing SS13 I did not think much of it. I was actually introduced to it by one of my friends. At this time I did not really know what I was doing, got banned from multiple servers because I had no idea what to do. Until I found this server, and I actually managed to play on it without being banned for being a newbie. Due to the fact I originally used my friends old account to play, it was still saved on this computer. I ad created my own account by now: Gandalf2k15(This is the account I use to play). I then thought to myself: "If I die can't I just join on a different account?". This was the one of the stupidest things I have done, at first it was okay. I had used it afew times. But then I thought why am I even doing this, and ruining the game for other people. Eventually this resulted in me being banned. I for some REALLY stupid reason came up with a stupid excuse about how my brother plays this computer. Which was the worst decision ever, I was thinking to myself, why lie. It never gets you anywhere... By this time it was too late. My stupidity got to me and ended in my demise.

Why you think you should be unbanned: I was ignorant and stupid, thinking I could get away with being a sneaky twat(Excuse the language, its justified for what I have done.). This was obviously a really stupid idea. And I seriously feel bad for cheating the server like this. And I regret every moment of it. Which is why I have now removed the account. I never intended to break the server rules or anything like that, was never banned and stuff. I had just wanted to continue playing, and I know: If I wanted to play I should have joined another server or waited. But that's why I was stupid, thought I could be sneaky. But I am really sorry for breaking the rules. I myself seem to play ss13 only now. And don't really play any other games much. And I know I deserved to be banned, not just for multi accounting but lying too. I am really sorry for that. I don't know how else to convey how sorry I actually am. And to lie to an admin, where I could have simply told the truth? That's just blatantly stupid. I am sincerely sorry for things I have done, all I wish for is your forgiveness, I really like playing on these servers and regret everything I have done. None of what I have done can be justified, I was just being stupid. I would simply like to play, and follow the rules. I promise that I will not break any rules again; I understand if you are unable to forgive me, but all I am asking for is a second chance. I am not someone to make the same mistake twice, you have my word on that. I truly am sorry.

Swapping ckeys to play Security after having been put in perma is already unacceptable. Lying about it in PMs after I made an effort to explain it to you is crossing a whole other line.

Go play somewhere else for a while, and appeal this at a later date.

Surely you can forgive me this one time? I have looked at other ban appeals and people have been unbanned for evading a ban. Its not like I done it because I was being a shitler on one account. And I made a rash decision when you confronted me, I know I should not have lied I was about to tell you the truth when I thought about what could happen, its not like I have a bad track record either I simply wanted to play more, I did not think that you would be that angry, I myself know that this wont happen again I just don't know why you don't believe that. I truly meant no harm whats so ever toward the server. And what do you mean at a later date? Like how long is that?

EDIT: You seem to have gotten the idea that I was doing it to avoid perm? If you had noticed I actually switched jobs from sec to engineer. As there were only these jobs left.

Yeah sure, it is not a good thing to do. But I am a relatively new player, and I had no idea that I would get trashed for it. I made a bad call, a really bad call. But still, to get completely trashed for not knowing? Abit harsh?

This is a matter of common sense. Lying in PMs was what took this to another realm entirely.

This is a matter of common sense. Lying in PMs was what took this to another realm entirely.

I am seriously sorry for doing that, I should have known better, but it was a rash decision to make. All I ask is for a probation of sorts or atleast a reduced ban time? I'm new and am still learning, and this is a mistake I have learned from. I should have thought before I talked. I know that lying does not get you anywhere, it just shunts you back miles. I am simply asking for mercy. Please, one chance to do right?

OK I'll look into this as I was also there when this occurred though I was not directly involved.

Our policy on metagaming is somewhat loose, but basically its understood that logging in with a separate Ckey is the equivalent of metacommunication. By which I mean you have gained an IC advantage by already knowing things that have happened within the round. It's for this reason when you click observe you are warned that you MAY not be able to play again in the current round.
There are of course exceptions to this when admins "invite" dead/observing players back into the round as various other mobs.

Secondly you were not dead as far as I was lead to believe, you were just put in perma. Now while this may seem like a life sentence there are things that can happen in game that can bring you back into the round. If you haven't done anything harmful, asking an ASIMOV AI to let you out isn't beyond reason.
The point is you were still in the round yet you decided to rejoin and adding to that, to a job that could REALLY help out your other character who was in perma.

Thirdly, you lied. You lied pretty seriously and didn't let up on the lie. If you had, when originally questioned, said "Sorry my bad, I fucked up" or "Sorry didn't realise that was an issue, I will take punishment as you see fit" or anything similar, then maybe it just be a day ban you were looking at. But you didn't you insisted it was your brother, you insisted you didn't know what we were talking about and that we were in the wrong, when clearly all our resources, tools and evidence showed us that you were lying.

I can understand where the first half, your mistake, might have come from, I have done many stupid things before beign and admin (and whilst being one). But being so recklessly dishonest doesn't lead us to believe that you would change your attitude. Ultimately we're here to make sure everyone has fun and everyone is on an even playing field. You showed us that you can't do the later.


As Scones has suggested, take a break, go play on other servers such as /VG/, baystation12, hippiestation, maybe even goon. Get some time in, prove that you can be a good player. Then in say a few months time, get a reference from an admin, your notes etc, and submit your ban appeal again.

Thank you! You see, that's all I wanted. A reasonable excuse to banning me instead of "go somewhere where we cant see you". That's it. And I agree to this, although one thing is that I ghosted on the character and had no intention of actually going back to the other account. But I know that I would have had a day ban, my feelings got to me and I lied. I'll see where else I can go.

And although your intentions probably weren't to give yourself an IC advantage, but instead carry on playing, we have no way of knowing that.

A little patience goes a long way, being dead or a ghost doesn't always mean you'll be out for the rest of the round. And even if it does sometimes observing the antics that take place can be pretty interesting/hilarious.
