Your side of the story: I got accused of "killbaiting" in this situation so I just wanna clear up what happened. The security officer I killed was named Kellen Dweeb. This person randomly walked up to a fellow engineer (named Hurricane), shot them, stripped off a bunch of their engineering shit and ran off. Hurricane screamed for help over the radio. I asked Hurricane which officer did it, and he told me it was Kellen. I found Kellen breaking into the kitchen when I was walking down the hall, so I walked up and grabbed him. He then immediately pulled out his taser, so I tabled him and took his taser, backpack and ID and ran off. After this, Kellen screamed over the radio that I was a traitor, that I was murdering him, that I had attempted to kill him, all sorts of shit. He threatened to arrest me, so I told him I was at escape and to come do it. I had a disease which lit me on fire, so I walked into space to put it out, and as I was walking back inside, Kellen lasered me to death. I was dragged inside and revived by defibrilators, and had to put on an atmos hardsuit to avoid getting killed by the disease which kept spontaneously combusting my skin. I sought kellen out, lit him on fire and beat him to death (I didn't use cuffs scones he's just unrobust) then spaced his body in response to him lasering me to death.
Why you think you should be unbanned: I don't think I should have been banned in the first place as this is a clear case of escalation. I commit a minor crime, Kellen commit a major one in response. I do see how it might have seemed to someone just looking through the logs like I was killbaiting, but that's really not what happened. The guy murdered me over theft, then took my stuff and left my body in escape.

EDIT: And just to clarify, it wasn't Kellen that dragged me to the medbay. It was a different officer, who found me after Kellen left my body floating in space outside escape.

This was the arrest that compelled Spirit to hunt down and attack an Officer. By breaking into the kitchen, do you just mean climbing onto the table? It's not exactly a secure area.

The Officer comes back for his ID and taser, and starts shooting you. Unless you dropped into crit right afterwards, you managed to tase him. The QM unloaded on you, probably because they assumed that the Officer was on the right side of the lethal confrontation.

I actually didn't seek him out. I just happened upon him climbing into the kitchen while I was walking down the hall. Also, Kellen critted me. I managed to tase him one time and dropped into crit immediately afterwards, then I was just left to die until someone dragged me inside. Kellen waited around escape, stripped off my shit while I was dead, then ran off, right before another officer named... Uhm. Fuck. Aaron, I think? I can't remember. But it was another officer who dragged me to the medbay and got me revived. He was the engineering security officer that round.

EDIT: As for what happened to Hurricane, it was said to me IC that the officer was stealing shit from him. If that wasn't the case, it was a miscommunication.

Regardless of everything else, you went out of line the moment you spaced him. Note this part specifically.: "You go after him, he dies, you medbay him"
You didn't medbay him. You just spaced him. Even if he didn't take you to medbay, at least he left your corpse in a public area. You however, jumped straight to spacing.

I'm pretty sure he would just have immediately murderboned me again after that. I didn't want to give him the chance to do that. He was a sec officer with access to all kinds of crazy weapons and shit. If I got him revived he would have had a massive advantage over me in any future encounters.

It's really not fair to force someone into a situation like this. You're basically telling me either to let myself die or get banned.

Also, I hoped to accomplish stealing HIS things, Scones. Duh?

Since when is it okay for a security officer to laser someone to death over having their shit stolen...? Every single time I've played security and had someone steal from me, I've captured them nonlethally. In fact, I probably would have recieved adminbeeps if I used lethals in those instances. Come on, man. Space law exists for a reason.

EDIT: Furthermore, there's a stock of tasers in security. If he had access to a laser, which is literally directly next to those, then he had access to the spare tasers.

This was during a crisis situation where everyone had some variation on the five deadly diseases the Virologist unleashed, ranging from necrotizing facitis to hallucinations and spontaneous combustion. I'm assuming this was why an Officer was not only Armory-geared but exceptionally paranoid/hostile.

If this had been a simple back and forth without the skipped step, I would have happily ruled this as an IC issue. You went straight for removing the guy from the round without any attempt to reconcile.

Man, what? The guy didn't take me to medbay; quite the contrary, in fact. After he lasered me to death, he left my body floating in space. How does that not count as skipping the exact same step? At that point I should have been just fine to kill him. If he had taken me to medbay himself, I wouldn't have even attacked him again.

While multiple testimonies (And honestly, my own experience with the player) have started to make my sympathize a bit more with Spirit, the Officer really does not have much of a note record about anything like this.

Also, for clarity, by "this guy" I mean the officer is consistently a dick. He causes more problems than he solves by pissing people off and giving them exactly what they need to excuse raging against the machine. He really needs to calm the fuck down.

Blue, but technical red. Armory gear was given out, >50% of the crew was afflicted by some form of the pandemic, and several parts of Medbay had been bombed (By the fucking virologist).

However, I think 'technical red' should probably be defined in the rules somewhere. We all know what it means: When heads of staff are indisposed but the station is in a code red situation, leading to the official alert being on the blue but the status of the station very clearly being red-worthy.

Reply PM from-Dweeb88/(Kellen Dweeb): sure, Hurricane, the guy i "stole" from was in the med bay as pipe bombs were being thrown around . I saw him run out and asked if i could search him. i cuffed gim and searched him and tleft his stuff there and uncuffed him. he pushed me and i said take it easy and that was that. Just a percaution. Then later on as tehre was no chef i hopped over to make food for myself . Then as i was on the tanble with a cooked piece of meat Molly came up and said "you like stunning engi's do ya and table and beat me up after which i went crit and then she robbed me of my pda and other things. It seemed very random to me so i thought she was a traitor. Then after i was revived she was already set to arrest. I said she crit me and went wild on me saying come see her in departures. I went there and she had her taser that she stole from me out and i shot a lasetr at her in fear of being killed and spaced because she attacked me already without provoking. another guy was theree and shot her too after she stunned me . then some

Ooookaaaay... I don't really wanna say he's lying out his ass, because perspective is a thing, but... Like... Check the attack logs. I did not beat that guy up or send him into crit. I just tabled and robbed him. I also didn't have the taser out of my pocket until after the guy lasered me like several times and was blasting away at me through the glass.

As far as I knew it was a blue alert, since I had just arrived and hadn't yet learned of the disease outbreak.

Also Falamazeer I really don't think it's 9 times out of 10 dude, stealth is such a common tactic for antagonists that people playing security frequently get bored and end up arresting people for little to no reason. Security is such a shitty job to play most of the time that all the people who are actually competent refuse to play it.

So, not only did you jump on an officer with no real information of the situation you intervened in, you did it shortly after joining the round and having no idea of the outbreak and other major issues the station was going through. Just because the officer happens to be a cock doesn't do anything for you, because you had no real basis for that other than him not being on your list of good officers to not fuck with

No real information? Dude. Another engineer screamed that he was being robbed in all caps over the radio. It wasn't like he was just some random shitler screaming, either; he was a competent player that had helped me out. All I had done up to that point was get to the station and set up the singularity, and Hurricane was the only person who got off their ass and helped me with it. Why are you jumping down my throat, calling me a shithead and stuff? That's just rude, pal.

The shithead comment was out of line, it's just my lingo for people who screw with security and I apologise, I typically mean it in the general sense of "shiteads who do this and/or that" not in specific instances of specific people such as yourself, This particular in case involves both of my biggest problems, people who find clever ways to mess with sec players, and sec players who make that reasonable through being a total bag of dicks.

I really don't think I deserved to be banned for this, especially since it was implied to me that it was an IC issue when I adminhelped over the guy lasering me to death in the first place. AFAIK you've always been allowed to respond in kind if somebody deathmatches you out of the blue, which is exactly what happened. I was floating in space outside escape trying to put out the fire that had erupted all over my body, and I didn't even SEE Kellen until I was already getting hit by lasers. He didn't say shit to me, just walked up and started murderboning. He escalated to lethals for no real reason other than because he felt he could get away with it. I was absolutely no threat to him, it was just a cold blooded execution.

From the looks of it, it looks like you stepped way out of line when you decided to assault the guy.

Unless he's just blatantly being a traitor (trying to kill people, breaking into secure areas, etc), I have no clue why you'd just go off and table him, then steal his shit. Definitely sounds like killbaiting to me.

While Kellen very well might be shitcurity, I don't see the point in what you did in the first place, unless you wanted him to come after you so you could dunk him.

It wasn't killbaiting. I thought the guy had robbed my engineering buddy so I was gonna steal his shit in return, eye for an eye. When I called him to escape it's because I was planning on giving him his PDA back and asking him to take me off arrest, but he just killed me the second he saw me.

Hmm well i didn't think that to be true. I play security a ton and try to be fair. It is hard to do when players make it their business to mess with you and other players yell at you for letting someone go with a warning, Sometimes you just cant be right in the eyes of both sides in those situations. I responded because i thought i was put in crit by her, Its all happened right after the other, But after reading the thread and seeing the other factors i see what could have happened to put me there. I still dont agree with just coming at me for no reason like she did. I have been on the other side too and been abused by sec so i guess learning more jobs is in order for me. We were both wrong. id say this is worked out and think she should be unbanned and we all carry on peacefully. Have a good night.

If you really, truly thought that the fasciitis that killed you was caused by me, then I -guess- I take back my accusation of you being a liar. Hopefully this was all a misunderstanding. That said, you really should look through your attack logs for people's names or some indication of their guilt before deciding to use lethal weapons on them as a security officer. Security really should never have to resort to lethal weapons except under extreme circumstances where their life is in imminent danger.

Dude was evading permabans turns out. He only got caught because I went over the recent bans in the database just now, which happened after all of this... so V(._.)V
