Bottom post of the previous page:

So they did remove self surgery! What kind of monster would do such a thing!? Probably the same one that got rid of being able to get SE's and other genetic information from the dead.

Also I'd like a neon hair aug please. Glowing hair in different colors.

Rule of thumb with security stuff is that if a traitor gets into your stash or beats you up and mugs you, then a traitor gets all your neat toys. This wouldn't happen with augs, so that's kinda shitty.

We shouldn't add more implants like this to the game yet. This is mainly because they will almost never see use by antagonists, but almost always get used by security. I believe this is because of the removal of self surgery. Why would a medical doctor ever give an assistant any implant besides buffer feet or photo resistant eyes? They wouldn't. Now, would a medical doctor give the HoS an arm cannon and reinforced torso? Of course he would, why wouldn't he?
Either find a way to make these augments not require surgery somehow or bring back self surgery.

Really liking the implant ideas, though.
I can see where you're coming from. For that very reason, I tried to avoid suggesting things that are outright weapons, even for security. In addition to making a bland system more robust, I feel like adding this would make surgery more important. I've always liked surgery in general, and I feel like it's horribly underutilized in medical. I would go so far as to advocate surgeon being a standalone job if augments like I suggested are implemented. Realistically, I see people mostly getting augments related to their job. Assistants are hardly ever going to get any of these. Assistants never get expensive stuff from science.
