It's not incompetency out of laziness though.

It's incompetence from inexperience.

Actual round ending diseases have been gone for a long time, and most of the playerbase doesn't know how to handle it if and when one does show up

I really like the idea of this. I would argue that it could be used to rush RnD but that is already possible via exosuit fabs anyway.
