This is game is going to go 2001: A Space Odyssey on us. Like Norman is going to be a space soldier guy who lost a family or something undertaking some trip of discovery and finding some kind of monolith thing that's going to turn him into the space baby.

I have a feeling it will be scifi MGS. Reedus is a Big Boss, the babby is Les Enfant Terribles and Space Dudes want to get its Geneseed.

Kojima trailer cycles usually start with really crazy, lofty visionary shit that sets the tone for the game but might not have a ton to actually do with the plot or gameplay.

It's likely what we've been shown is a dream sequence or something that has nothing to do with the actual game or gameplay at all. Remember the Phantom Pain trailer with its giant flaming whale and the speculation that we were getting some crazy monster hunter thing or Silent Hill or horror game elements.

Looking at the trailer and trying to extract game information from it is totally, 100% pointless. Just enjoy the RUSE CRUISE

So I tried MGO. It's obscenely laggy but it's fun when I'm not getting absolutely shit on.

It seems like about 65% of the other players are literally from Japan.

Balance in MGO has gone out the window with the wormhole fultons.
Used to make sense holing up under cover with a buddy when you got a high bounty but now any shitass can just wormhole you out. I'd rather just rambo in an open field and try to get myself killed than give them 15 free tickets.

A pity the whole thing happened to begin with. I had hopes for ONE last MGS game. One last prequel. Not starring any of the snakes.

Too bad nothing he can do will ever trump the atmosphere of the hospital sequence.

I was really hoping MGSV would close the cycle and wrap the series up. That the game would've ended on the doorstep of the original Metal Gear game. Instead we got a game that didn't advance the plot at all, only continued to muddy it. Which is weird after MGS4 wrapped up everything (even if it had to be kind of a mess to do it) and Peace Walker was doing so much good in further filling in more blanks.

Instead we have room for at least one more game inbetween the end of MGSV and Metal Gear.

At this point if they keep the franchise going I'm more interested to see what they'll do going forward with Raiden and the future stuff. MGR is canon, which is totally fine. If Konami wants to turn the franchise into a bunch of character action games that's really good. They don't have to worry about not keeping up with the crazy Kojima narratives and can focus on a type of gameplay that's easier to do and, when partnered with Platinum, they can do right.

Onion, they're just going to make Metal Gear themed pachinko

EDIT: Also yea, Konami is getting out of videogames. But yea, I found it kind of amusing that the patriots had been holding back technology, and that shit exploded in advancement after they were gone.
