Ban type (What are you banned from?): The server, and all of its content.

Ban reason and length: Reason: "Please take a break and don't antagonize the server when you're mad - take some time to chill down. OOC: DT Scurvy: I was just going through the rules again, and Rule 1 is "Don't be a dick." I think everyone on this server is guilty of breaking that rule, including me." Time was 1500 minutes.

Time ban was placed (including time zone): Around 8:50 PM, Eastern Standard Time.

Your side of the story: I was making a joke. It's true, I was aggravated due to AlphaaBeta banning me for 15 minutes for making a snide remark about the round in OOC literally 10 seconds before the round ended. I know, you're not supposed to do icky ock at all, even if it's 5 seconds before the round ends, but the point of that rule is so that people don't gain knowledge about the round that they can use to their advantage, like yelling out a traitor's name in OOC when they kill you. Saying, and I quote "A harvester pushed me out the shuttle right before we landed. What an asshole", is not ruining anybody's round.

Why you think you should be unbanned: When I made this joke in OOC, I wasn't even angry. It was a joke, because I was going through the rules again and I saw rule 1, and I thought "Man, everybody on this server's kind of an asshole, I mean, it IS the internet, people are usually dicks online." By the way, "Take some time to chill down"? Oh, sorry, AlphaaBeta, you're right, I'll go ride a bike and do my homework. Want me to go mow the lawn and put up the dishes too? You ain't my mom, and I didn't break any rules.

30 minutes, 10 seconds, or 1 second.

Don't IC in OOC. There is a hard line and if you can't even follow the easiest rule we have, there probably isn't much hope for you.

This is a simple principle and from the other hand, why not just wait 5 more seconds before sending your message?

The point of this appeal is not the icky ocky. I can understand why I was banned for that. I CANNOT understand why I was tempbanned for making a joke. Please look at the actual reason I was banned and the ban I was talking about instead of the 15 minute one.

Just to note, that ban wasn't because of that signle line in OOC. Let's bring up something more you might have alredy forgotten about

Still, "antagonizing the server" isn't a bannable offense, and we started making jokes about it. I got over it. Just because you interpreted it a certain way doesn't mean that you should ban me.

And, yes, I know it's only a day ban, but it's the principle of it. I'm petty, and you trying to tell me to "take some time to chill down" really pisses me off.

You can tell me I don't have a sense of humour but I find it really hard to consider what you've said funny in any other way than pointing at it with a stick and saying 'Look, that guy's full of '. Really, I haven't even noticed anyone making jokes with you, that looked like making jokes from you.

1500 minute seems kind of extreme, a mute would have sufficed. I've dealt with very similar circumstances and a mute allows for the buttmad parties to calm down. Also, there is no way you were making a joke, this

is not a joke, its insulting.

The IC in OOC ban was fine (though I'd probably have just warned him), but please don't day ban people for calling you a dick though. Unless it's a persistent problem like puunches shitposting people should be entitled to their bad opinions.

I'd agree that a ban for an insult is a little harsh, though DT's trash talk foul mouth attitude can get kinda boring real quick. And it happens a lot... a lot a lot.
AlphaaBeta is still a learning admin though, they've only just started their trail so definitely something to take on board.

Anyway back to the orginal post. All and any IC in OOC is punishable, even "joke" or fake icky ocky. With decent reasons for, having been in our server rules for years and also being in quite large letters in the server rules that everyone lies and said they read.

Alright, maybe the dayban was too much, I do admit that. I have forgotten that muting you was an option, it was pretty late at night for me and I alredy was pretty annoyed.

Ban is expired and I think everything that needed to be said was said.
