Re: [POLL] Murders space ninja and removes it from the event
Ninja is the most coveted and rare antagonist role, and second only to Wizard in terms of power (Wizards have a much larger potential for chaos in terms of summon spells). To remove, in my opinion, the best antagonist role is just saddening.

Re: [POLL] Murders space ninja and removes it from the event
i agree ninjas are awesome
everyone just seems to be mad that bad ninjas are dicks and forgetting that they're meant to be pretty much invincible
if they dont already, they should only spawn an hour or two in, to end the round

Re: [POLL] Murders space ninja and removes it from the event
I think ninja would be better if cloak didn't eat up so much power so you could stay cloaked longer and ninja stars stunned for a lot less time so it wasn't magic missile ezmode. There's really no stealth in throwing ninja stars and eswording people in the main hallways.
Besides, the only thing you're really bitching about is the ninja star anyway.

Re: [POLL] Murders space ninja and removes it from the event
Ninja is fun, when the player isn't being a shitter/murderboning, because it IS supposed to be retardedly robust. Dunno how exactly to stop being from being cunts and telegibbing/invis swording everyone in sight because valid (except making a rule against that or some shit).
It is pretty rare though, and as far as I know, can only spawn quite late into a round, same as alium.

It's less "i ded pls nerf", more that we're willingly executing the worst code in the history of ss13.

Re: [POLL] Murders space ninja and removes it from the event
Well there's people who like ninja as an idea so gutting it with no plans of remaking it is kind of shit. When other people remove things like stun gloves they add better code in its place.

Re: [POLL] Murders space ninja and removes it from the event
Just gonna pop in here saying that if it's admin only, nobody will be able to play it.
After all, why would an admin risk the whole round to give one player fun and potentially more people depending on how it goes. RNG doesn't care, and most players forgive RNG since RNG isn't a sentient being (maybe).
Imagine where no random events happened, and they were all admin only. Or, that you can easily tell if a 'random' event is admin'd or not. Say you're doing solars and suddenly a meteor hits you in the face and kills you. That's some shitty luck but if it was actually luck, oh well. That's how the game goes. Now if an admin pressed the meteor button and someone got hit in the face with a meteor, and they're 100% sure it wasn't rng, they're gonna be really mad at that admin, when said admin can't really tell the meteors where to strike. The rest of the station will groan when the meteor prompt comes up and the admin's now shit since they made the decision to fuck with the round that was going perfectly well for three hours.
((more)opinions ahead)
A better example would be aliens. Aliens, I think, are terrible, for multiple reasons which I won't discuss right now, but you know how a lot of people also hate aliens? Those people, when aliens show up, will probably adminwho and wonder if it was RNG or HBL. If aliens were exclusively admin-spawn, those xeno-haters (and me) would groan and sign as we hear ;alien larva in atmos since someone took the conscious decision to fuck with the round, instead of RNG just doing it's job.
Said groaning and whining discourages admins from using them. Eventually it's never used. After all, when was the last time you played a monkey round? Admin events, or even just button pressing, is essentially gambling. You might make the round really fun. You might ruin it. You might not make anything super special. The admin bets their reputation and hopes to win fun for the players.
RNG has nothing to lose.
tl;dr Admin only ninjas = Ninjas will be incredibly rare or nonexistant due to it being a gamble.

Re: [POLL] Murders space ninja and removes it from the event
Aliens are great and designed to end rounds which is what they excel at, HBL trying to make them normal events usually makes people salty because he doesn't know how the game works or what they're for.
I'm sure at one point aliens were just a normal thing people had to deal with but in their current iteration, seeing aliens means you're going to be overrun and completely trashed by hunters that MLG tackle, which isn't a bad thing in my opinion because it unfucks long ass rounds a lot of the time.
Also xenomorphs are robust as shit in the movies dwi

Re: [POLL] Murders space ninja and removes it from the event
reel in the ninja's ability to murderbone so effectively, ninja is supposed to be hardmode. weaken the ninja stars and remove the c4, but make cloaking suck up less energy, holy shit there it's fixed.
Also give him less tricord too i guess but I feel like I'm the only ninja player that knows about that.

Re: [POLL] Murders space ninja and removes it from the event
The Ninja does not even need the C4, he can just telegib anyone if he wants (For an expensive power cost).
Make the Ninja's cloak not completely invisible, so if your paying attention you'll spot the Ninja and it gives a reason for a Ninja to not announce their presence since no one will be looking for a Ninja until someone screams "NINJA" on the radio.

Re: [POLL] Murders space ninja and removes it from the event
Xenomorph cloak is a really good example of invisible enough to not be seen while sanicing around / in maint but also visible so it's not wicked OP. Ninja cloak should be replaced with that and cheap as hell to use so ninja can actually stalk effectively. I never get time to scope out the station for antags to capture when as soon as i pop my head out i run out of cloak or someone spots me sanicing around and i have to run away or murder all of security.

I dont think it should be killed, and that is what the OP says the poll is for.
I am located here, lurking in your posts, leaving piles of transparent wordings and being confused. Oh, I also try to map...
This, this is an example of what I leave for you.
Also, these days I mostly play Ursit McStation, mostly because I like roleplay.

Like, is the poll misleading or something? THIS IS TO REMOVE IT AS A RANDOM EVENT; NOT COMPLETELY.

Re: [POLL] Murders space ninja and removes it from the event
The poll is a double whammy of removing Ninja and removing it from the events, which makes no sense.
Its a bad poll.

Re: [POLL] Murders space ninja and removes it from the event
Multiple people have already said that it made them think that ninja was being removed entirely, code and all
What this PR is actually doing is just removing it as a RANDOM EVENT

It's effectively the same due to reasons I've said above.

I honestly wish mods would do more, but the key to a good admin event is really tricky, and there's always somebody, even if it's good.

Re: [POLL] Murders space ninja and removes it from the event
Yeah, it's effectively the same and I don't think people would change their votes if it was "more clear" anyway.
However, I will agree that Goofball definitely does not make his polls obvious enough, usually making them biased or misleading, and often hides information in the descriptions of his PRs under the excuse of "forgetting."

Re: [POLL] Murders space ninja and removes it from the event
Your own damn fault for trusting any coders and not combing trough the code in prs religiously to find hidden shit. SS13 coders are infamously buttmad and try to stealth nerf shit always, me included.
Like, for example, you merged a PR of mine that made sec borgs have 1hp and removed their taser secretly.
