There should be random events specific to lavaland
I'd like to see one where rarely during an ash storm you get a message like "You smell blood in the air..." and any mobs within a few screen's worth of range will start slowly approaching the miner. Maybe add a sound effect when it happens like all the monsters screaming off in the distance (kinda like this.)

Space worms probably won't return, because they're VERY fucky and were removed by Kaze for being buggy.

"Ash worms" as I imagine them are worms that travel underground and pop up out of the ground to shoot rocks/spit at you, so single tile worms basically.

Excuse me, ash worms are humongous creatures which can swallow survival capsules whole and are attracted the the subtle vibrations of footsteps on ash. I've heard rumors of ash walkers riding them but surely that can't be true
