with everyone sperging about tasers we should probably get security a Heavy Taser that's backpack mounted like a defib and needs to be help in both hands similar to the paddles. It'd slow you down and let you spam those clicks to fire golden bolts blindly down the hallway. It's too big for a regular cell charger, so you need to have another sec officer stand behind you can constantly crank a dynamo on it.

A backpack-mounted riot control/suppression weapon isn't actually that bad an idea... the dynamo might be a little too much, given that it has slowdown and takes up your back slot (and, realistically, probably both hands too), but the idea of shooting barrages of electrodes down Central Primary Hallway is a nice one.

So essentially akin to a World War 1 crew operated weapon where you have one guy firing infinite bullets/tasers/whatever and someone else doing some menial task behind the operator to maintain the firing of the gun.

Amusing I'll give you that.

The dynamo thing is total overkill but I love the idea of a backpack-mounted laser weapon.

For the love of all that is holy, make it overheat after a while and shock the poor fucks operating it.

To be honest just buff the laser cannon and make it into this, it doesn't hold a strong niche anyway.

Maybe make it a weapon attachment that acts as a mobile battery for a energy weapon in your hand.

If you wear this bulky item that slows you down and sacrifices your backpack slot, and it forces the energy weapon (disallow taser weapons) in your hand to be two-handed. But you gain the ability to fire your weapon hundreds of time's possibly.

You'll be a slow, mean, killing machine.

Backpack charger. Slows you down, but links into your weapon to provide massive amounts of energy.

I like this idea.

Have a back-mounted energy pack for weapons. Can be hooked into any energy weapon and adds an additional amount of charges equal to the cell in the energy pack /1000. Renders the weapon undropable however takes up both hands and the charge holder itself has a lengthy process where the cell is removed and replaced. R&D can develop an energy pack that automatically recharges charges and one that gets better economy for the energy (/500 instead of /1000).

Could probably steal kaze's denied backpack minigun thingy and repurpose it to fire taser shots if anybody wants to code this

tbh the idea of having actually mounted, static gun emplacement dealies that you have to drag into place, bolt down, and then climb on to take the gunner's position would be pretty awesome

Another crewmember standing to the side feeding ammo into it so the gunner doesn't run out, probably some sorta cover/buff to the gunner to account for their lack of mobility.

And then give 'em to the snow ops to defend their shit.

So, basically upgraded emitters?

Time to exhume an ancient idea I had on Bay about constructable railguns.

They'd require Research materials and Engineering equipment, so this oughtta make sure they'd never get built.

Alright, how does this sound? We make a gattling laser. Two-handed laser that fires very rapidly and holds a large charge. Backpack-mounted, just like the defibrillator (weapon can be stored in battery backpack when not in use also). To charge it, you have to remove a power cell from the backpack and charge it.

It sounds cool. Just don't add it to nuke ops pls they don't need more shit

Yes, but only if it has slowdown and a minor block-chance (the gun itself has to be two-handed to compensate).

The original suggestion itself is (obviously) completely ridiculous but the idea of a backpack-mounted heavy weapon is something that is perfectly realistic.
