Currently ripleys are of no use, especially with the hostile environment and ash storms. You'd be better off with a punctured space suit. Regardless they're just useless now.

Regardless of redesign or not they should be taken out.

If someone will code it fine. But untill that happens they can't stand up to wildlife and aren't worth the effort that goes into them. I mean we're talking about something that takes a roboticist about 5 minutes minimum to make, and wastes resources and doesn't work as intended. Nobody is currently going to miss them until someone re-codes them.

Agreed, don't remove them just improve them. Removing an entire mech from the lineup just makes the roboticist's mech-building job much more boring since that's the only mech most roboticists ever end up building.

If they aren't good, just don't use them. If they do end up removed and later buffed, adding them back in is just one more thing devs have to do. Why not leave them in and buff them instead of taking the unnecessary step of removal?
