Change uplink purchasing to a stock system

This is a wild idea that I don't expect (or even fully desire) to be implemented, but I feel that it's worth discussion. I don't think it should be applied to Nuke Ops, since I feel it would work better with traitors.
Instead of having 20 points to mix and match purchases, have something around 5 points, and make each item cost 1.
The twist is that each item comes in limited stock. Most items can only be purchased once, such as bombs. Certain items like eswords can be purchased twice (for dual-bladed eswords).
Some items like C4s would probably be changed to give more bang for your buck, like making C4s come in a bundle of multiple C4s.
The exception to this system are items like bundles/crates/the balloon which will still cost all of your points.
Thoughts?
Also note that I admittedly haven't put a lot of thought into this system, it's kind of an off-the-wrist radical idea that will probably most likely be shit, but also maybe it won't be I don't know
