Cable Coil Manufactory R&D buildable Engineering machine

A machine that takes the basic materials of metal and glass and simply makes cable coils out of it, not a lot of bells and whistles. Throw some paint into the machine and it'll paint the future coils for you (entirely optional) upgrading the machine improves efficiency and cost as standard.
Finance your spear and stun prod building industry, make artistic installations, keep your friends and you enemies tied up ( Actually use it to help with shortages on the station of cruicial wires for both building machines and connecting the network)
Even if it was only to see occasional use, it would be entirely beneficial to solving the great drought of wiring without having to scavenge (cyborgs would be renewable for a start being able to heal burn damage without severely limiting science) and if engineering start with said machine, besides the already ample supply of wires they have locked inside their vendors they will be able to always have some on themselves and free to give out regardless.

Wire coils should probably be added to the autolathe if they aren't already there.
I've never run out of wire before though.

A cable-moulding machine would be great. If nothing else being able to get a run of all the same colour on demand rather than relying on RNG would help muh autisms.
Or just put them on the autolathe menu, you can already recycle odds and ends of wire in the autolathe last time I checked, why not spit out new ones?

Not always feasable without literally rendering the station inoperable without power if you snip as much wire as you need (1 bit isnt going to cut it). In many ways we arent talking about shortages to electrical ground flooring wire but moreso to wires that are consumed in recipes or essential machines like spear production and cyborg maintenance (just eats bits of wire entirely to heal burn damage)
Shoving wires into the protolathe production due to the ability to create multiples at once, is a option over one at a time autolathe, but a purpose pre-placed machine in engineering areas to start off with would be better since engineering wouldn't have to bug science to get some, and instead use their abundant natural resources of metal and glass around them and just feed as much as needed into the machine productions and queue up some wires for production.

The autolathe is inefficient and it would strategically powercreep revolutionaries fixation on cargo early leading to powergamer rushes to secure cargo immediately by sec and revs that may fizzle out hostile contact for the rest of the match pending casualties.(devils advocate speaking, it would make controlling cargo sooner more pivotal and possibly more intense)

They already swarm Cargo, and Cargo can already make handcuffs. Cable coils aren't a big deal.

Requires hacking, wires would be off the bat and two cuffs a coil meaning that would quickly multiply and arm every single revolutionary and shitler to walk in with a pair or one each no matter how many people attend. (depends on whether it would deliver full coils at what cost if it was applied to autolathe)
Cuffs also have a tendency to backfire in that if the situation can be reversed, it is harder to escape so its not really a viable antag detainment method.

Do you ever actually have a problem getting wires in a rev round.
They usually last like 10 minutes, how are you running out of wires in art storage + 10 coils in the YouTool + misc other coils in yellow toolboxes.
If you do need a tonne of wire coils and have access to cargo I probably wouldn't bother printing them from the autolathe - I'd spend 10 points on a toolbox crate and get 9 full coils.
Autolathe cablecoils is not a big deal.

snip the wire you placed down, collect wire of undesirable color with snipped wire of desired color, acquire full coil of desired color wire, replace snipped wire with your full coil of cable.

Yeh, just add them to the autolathe.
Wire is hardly a scarse resource, it's just dumb that it can't be printed like all the other shit.
