Parasite Network/ Hive mind

So I was thinking about how people want a spreading biohorrors in ling something it is poorly tooled to do (like about anything) and the defunct bay mode "meme" but giving it a little bit of teeth and some incentive for hosts to either not scream bloody murder or act like revs. The core of the idea is pretty simple. Also a little bit of the Rick and Morty hive mind bender episode I will admit.
Parasite: Directly controls host (singular) can spread host status to others and change the host (singular) it is controlling as well as viewpoint. Unless all hosts are exterminated basically immortal via progeny.
Host: Not antagonists (crucial) but incurable aside from grisly extreme methods like borging (treatment not a cure) or maybe botony pods, infection follows the brain since well neural parasite ala ling powers being stored there and prevents being scanned by cloners post infection. You rat you die people kill you, you don't you plod around wondering when the parasite turns it's attention to you as a tool potentially for even a suicide mission.
The parasite "mind" basically treats people as disposable assets/cameras dehumanizing them without it's personal interaction the infection doesn't spread hosts owe it very little and lack the very ability to spread without it it also makes them detectable through a physiological change which can be examined when in control. They spread through an ability used by the host or hosts in direct contact with other humans. The parasite when active takes total control of one host at a time, the hosts never get antagonist status that is always conserved to the parasite minds the horror aspect of not being in control. Game mode could either be several minds working together in one host network or competing minds in exclusive networks trying to destroy one another. Operating as I envision most infected would try and brush it off and continue their day exposure means death, borging or a life sentence since even the most cooperative host can never be trusted. Conversions and direct possession would be overt via sound / observable appearance but to keep things from being totally invisible they will need objectives kill a target generically, possess target at round end or even steal might be a funny spin with awkward hand offs as the parasite switches bodies to move the item. Hosts while wanting to not die by being exposed have no inherent loyalty to the parasite and when the mind is busy elsewhere they can try to stymie it actively by screwing up it's perceive objectives/goals, more power to them an antagonist that can literally force your character to destroy itself is a terrifying threat I should hope while I do suggest the parasite be unable to flat out suicide verb its unwanted victims that's boring.
