Poll: Remove Chaplain Smoke Spell

It's an item that's just begging to be spammed, and often is used that way.
I've never seen it used or talked about in a positive light.
Was just curious if others felt the same, and if public outcry was great enough to get the thing gone.
I've added the "replace it with x" option to maybe toss around a few ideas of non-spammy items that could be added in it's stead.

All the times I rolled chaplain I put it in good use, but, it is kind of impartial starting this thread and promoting it when someone in the current shift is abusing it as outlined. (take note that I pressed summit only when the round ended, as to not icky oocky). Fortunadly, the chaplain taht was offending us ended being set on fire, tased and handcuffed.

I've seen it used alot more as a grief instrument than a useful one. It needs a way longer cool down than it does currently.

The problem is, even if I really like the smoke spell, you are sadly right, most of the chaplains just use the spell and fucking spam it, specially in the shuttle, before it even takes of. So... there is no denying you are right in asking for a removal, but, I just don't want it to go, is... fun.

fuck, it will be removed.

and? it's not like it'll actually do anything other then color the smoke, and also there wouldn't be the bubbling sound or the text entry about the reagents bubbling so people would know it was just a smoke spell

Give it a huge cooldown, so chaplains can still use it for gimmicks and it doesn't become an incentive for people to chose a certain job because of any unique powers that it gets.

How about coding a special version that doesn't cause suffucation/coughing?

I think what annoys most people is the coughing effect that causes you to drop things and the chaplains that use it next to officers arresting someone.

I'll see what I can do about making a special smoke but you'd have to make a special chem reaction just for the smoke spell PLUS make an all new book and everything since the current smoke book/spell is actually the wizard's so

It's not really the same, doesn't smoke cause coughing inherently? Doesn't the spell just spawn some smoke? Wouldn't you have to make a whole new or child 'coughless smoke' for the spell to work?

Oh fuck no I'm not doing it myself I don't consider this to be a problem worth coding personally. A chaplain spamming cough smoke is a perfect excuse to rev up that stun baton.

I can attest to this, smoke makes it retard hard to try arrest them, you drop your weapon, drop your cuffs, and the smoke lasts long enough that they can keep it up literally non stop.

Wrong, I turned my internals on to counter it as soon as I saw the smoke and now my baton is painted red and chaplain brains.

If anything the captain should be perma'd and executed demoted for not securing the spare ID from roundstart emaggers/telescientists/greytides.

Usually the guy who steals the ID ends up being a far more competent Captain anyways.
