Byond account and character name: Berenal is the account name and Berenal is the character name.
Banning admin: mrstonedone
Ban type (What are you banned from?): Metacomming? I'm assuming this means using a third party chat.
Ban reason and length: Perma
Time ban was placed (including time zone): 2015-07-25 03:12:59 EST I believe.
Your side of the story: Clown was harassing me and my friend. We killed him. Got essentially killed for it in return, Admin warned us we're not supposed to do that. Got banned for it even after talking with the Admin (We're both new), for two days. During this talk I'd mentioned the friend I was with was a RL friend and that we were talking through vent. Apparently that's not allowed, neither of us knew this so we decided fuck it, we'll just leave vent out of playing the game. Decided whatever, eat the ban for killing the clown. Tried to log on today to find out I'd been perma'd for "metacomming" despite telling the admin that both of us are new and we had no idea that was even a rule. Admin said I wouldn't get perma'd for it since I was new.
Why you think you should be unbanned: I mean, I was told I wasn't gonna get perma'd? Plus it says appeal on the forums to get it lifted. I'm new to the game, harshness aside, this is pretty extreme for something so simple.

You can't use "I didn't know the rules" as an excuse, you're expected to read the rules when you're playing on the server, this ban wasn't for no reason at all.

You broke the rules, and you got punished. I'm sure that they will consider unbanning you but you should read the rules if you don't want to stay permabanned.

I'm talking about the double ban being for no reason. I was told I was going to get banned and I read the rules after so I figured alright fine, egg on my face. Then I got a perma after my ban ended but before I'd even logged in again.

New info popped up apart from the killing of something more serious, and you were banned appropriately.
If you actually read the rules page instead of hopping on a random server blindly, you would have seen:

• Using information in game acquired via out of game communication methods(metacommunication) will lead to an immediate permaban for all communicating parties.

Yet my friend was told it was fine and so was I? Hell he's not even banned he's still playing the game. We were both new and told we'd get off with a warning. Plus our "metacommunication" consisted of "where are you, over here, alright cool". It wasn't like we were rigging the game, these rules basically make it so if you have friends you're doing something wrong.

He's not banned because as far I could prove, you said things to him, but he was a passive party, being talked to, less then an active participant in the conversation.

To paraphrase him: "ya, he suggested I play this game, but all he's done is scream at me about some clown"

When I saw that he hadn't ever attacked the clown, I let him slide.

these rules basically make it so if you have friends you're doing something wrong.

I played this game long before becoming admin in the same dorm room as the friend who introduced it to me, Its really not that hard to follow the rules in that regard. But we actually read the rules, so that helps i guess.

Over a weeks gone and OP hasn't replied. Going to assume they have nothing further to add.
