Firing pins for mech weapons

Why does a hand disabler require a firing pin but a heavy mech laser doesn't? RnD currently just floods the entire station with mechs if there is even 1 dedicated scientist working on it. Having mech weapons require firing pins would tone it a BIT down.

Because you can make infinite gygaxes by throwing light tubes or micromanipulators into a crusher.

1-2 emp's can fuck the battery permanently, which kills the mech unless they can fix it and replace the battery.

Instead of nerfing mechs, why don't you take care of the actual problem. The crusher.

What he said. Mechs worked forever without firing pins, but Goof's crusher didn't.

No, science already has to get firing pins for RnD, they don't need them for robotics to.

i always figured there were no pins on mech guns because mech guns require a mech in the first place
that being said, with research having been solved and the crusher obsoleting mining on everything but uranium, getting mechs is pretty easy now

Why is the crusher shooting out all these materials anyways, the only things that should be coming out of that thing is metal,glass and maybe the occasional gold and silver.

Part of some dumb push to make all machines upgradeable, balance concerns be damned.
(goof used all the shitty balance errors he deliberately put in his PR to flesh out the issue count so he could get PR #10,000)

I've had a crusher nerf up for a pretty long time, not sure why it hasn't been merged yet.
