BURN THE REPORTS, HIDE THE EVIDENCE

Post by TheBibleMelts » #780977

disable any level of roundstart threat reporting. let people experience surprise, suspense, and not pre-emptively start powergaming in accordance to what a piece of paper says the threat number is.

so far as the crew should be concerned, they are playing a mundane regular workday where Nothing Ever Happens, and should only act reactively and not proactively.

this will immensely aid in enforcing the policy we have discouraging powergaming, as the people who kit themselves out like they're about to fight in WW2 at roundstart won't have the "threat report said there would be trouble" excuse.

also the people who suicide the moment that a report drops that it's a low threat round make me want to send their parents a tasteful wellmark card expressing my deepest condolences for their childs clear and utter braindeath

i hate as captain when the report is printed and the AI (or one of the subordinates) just starts yapping about how cooked we are because its a black orbit. Its super gamey and ooc-ic and the only way to try and preserve the immersion is to be equally as gamey and wait for the report to hide them in your office or share exclusively with security. Ideally it would only be sent to the captain, but i would rather it be removed and kept hidden than it being called out at minute 4. muh immersion!!!!
