I’m an autist so I like airlocks because I like mechanical processes and shit like that but I want to know from normal people. do you like this or not.

I actually prefer the Ordnance style of airlock pumps - that you control by panels and buttons - over the compact ones.

With a panel, we could put more information on it, like a gauge reporting air supply pressure (so you know if the pump will ever finish or not), an emergency cycle button to skip the process during atmos lag, an in-built heater so maps like Icebox can function with them, etc...

Though I recognize the accessibility of simply being able to bump the airlock to start cycling.

same here I love it. I’ve caught myself just going through the ordinance airlock just because I like how you can see what it is doing. I’m pretty sure you can keep the automation and also have a control panel as well.

I'd been toying on and off with a map design that used venting airlocks as standard so it's really cool to see that other people like them too. Plus, chasing someone in and out of the arrivals airlocks is always a massive pain in the ass.
