Random thing I noticed while playing on a private TG station

Anybody else think it's confusing that a "severely infected" burn wound doesn't actually contain or carry any diseases?

I've been torturing Pun-Pun en masse with lasers and the one thing I perpetually notice about his charred corpses is they all accumulate "infection" descriptors, but none of them actually accumulate any diseases, on account of husks not having blood possibly? I don't code so I don't actually know why this happens the way it does.

I believe that in-game infection basically just describes the severity of a burn wound, it's an noncontagious wound infection for which the main symptoms are the escalating effects of having the burn wound I guess
mechanically it deals an escalating amount of toxic damage and gradually disables the limb, although it can't spread further than your wounded body area
if you let it get bad enough it becomes essentially unfixable without replacement

yeah like reasonably its just like yknow. staph. stuff that lives on your skin and is mostly fine so long as you dont get burns or cuts and bathe regularly
