Gravel, concrete and fossilization process

Post by FantasticFwoosh » #776792

Ore vents are stupidly overpowered and non-intuitive, in traditional style, we should shoot ourselves in the foot constructively and make them carry a caveat that they produce boulders that only do a handful of things instead of providing a almost 100% hit rate on ore.

Ore Vent New Materials (atleast 50%)
Coal: split between 'Naughty' low grade coal that just burns up quickly with toxic smoke, and 'Nice' coal, which can be pressurized into diamonds, with higher content and less output. Coal is a archaic fuel element and chemical substitute for plasma though exausted on old space-earth, with use of fuel ducts, a steam engine could be put together for unclean energy.

Fossils: See below, occasionally you may find post-fossilized unmaritime fish and plants break out of the ores, where they will be stored in the ORM in their mineral form.
Gravel + Stone: Gravel is the 'chemical' of grinding down stone, and can be individually made into objects and floors, with wells being the only normally accessible place to get stone. 10 stone can be re-placed to create a faux natural stone wall, for doing whatever dwarfy thing you ought to be doing. Gravel and stone are also in a lineup of stone related e

The elements of stone bread interact with Dorf drinks to create a dwarfy sensation in the drinker, and make their beard grow, and their legs get shorter.
Concrete Alloy: Made with sand and stone, wet concrete mix can be made out of the individual parts plus water to fast-paint down flooring, but pre-forged wet concrete is edible by moths.

Every element part of concrete is edible, Im not sorry.

Fossilization:

By mutating soybeans into carpbeans, then further onto dragon-beans used in esoteric martian cooking by 10,000 year old vampire sorcerors, you can access the fossilization trait, which makes a plant immune to degradation by utilizing the mechanic hardening it into stone instead of smelling and rotting at a progressive rate. With a active chemical element of entropium, which can induce a stone-form if overdosed, dragon beans are edible by mineral eaters. The chemical is relatively linked to formaldyhde for preservation on objects and bodies, and can be purged once you have a needle sufficiently strong enough to puncture the stone, with no reactions happening else.

A explosive fossilized banana will not react to the water injected in it, until it is processed or injected entropium antidote.

Fossils of all kinds can be revived by science and hydroponics techweb machine, by building a mineral revitalizer, allowing you to do things like bring ancient plants, dead bodies and unmaritime fish back to fleshy life.
