A machine that has an updating stock market list of blood types and their values. Strapping yourself in and pressing the *SELL* button performs a health check - is your blood level high enough, has this machine collected from you (or someone with your DNA) recently, is your blood a normal type, are you sick, etc. If you pass the check, it sucks 200 units of blood out of you and credits your personal bank account about 50-100 credits depending on the market rate for your blood type.
Possibly a bigger version buyable from cargo for mass-harvesting? I'm picturing blood farms using IV drips for profit. Maybe medbay sets up a blood drive for a rare blood type that's skyrocketed in value. Maybe they keep patients sedated and wired up to chemistry plumbing, continually bringing in profit.
Also there should be a version of this in perma, the only difference being it gives an 80% cut to the security budget. That's right, prisoners only get paid 20% for the same amount of blood and it lets security buy more batons to beat them with. That's prison life for you.
I think it'll be fun to have people selling their blood for money. Fits the game's themes. Mechanically, I think there's room for a less powerful income source than bounties with less time investment. Convenience is paid for by blood loss, which makes you worse at combat for a while.

Re: Galactic Blood Market
Not keen, saline makes it a bit gamey and redundant. Medbay will end up looking like the matrix, though its probably not as bad as miasma farming.
