Your side of the story: Zero excuses from me. Was quite drunk and mixed my drinks, got high too... Got into some stupid debate about Trump, made the mistake of insulting someone in response to an accusation (can't even remember who I was arguing with tbh). Absolutely no excuse for my language/insults and I truly apologise. Very out of character for me, but I'll hold my hands up and admit I was very wrong and feel ashamed of my actions and words. I will quite happily eat a long discord ban if need be, but at some point I'd like to be un-banned (as it's my first and hopefully last offense).

I'll admit I don't even remember the whole context but there was some back and forth about Brits vs Americans and I took it personally and said what I said in response to being accused of making a mass shooting joke, which if I was sober I would have completely ignored or dealt with in a smarter, cooler way.

I'm not making excuses for my behaviour, but I really should not be mixing my drinks and then engaging in heated political discussions. I've been upset lately with the global situation and have been very depressed. But even that is not an excuse to tell someone to 'die in a fire' .

To whoever it was I insulted, I am sorry and the first thing I will do if un-banned is apologise to the person I snapped at. I also apologise to the staff who had to deal with me. I feel stupid now.

I'm now hungover and ashamed.

You're unbanned. The person you insulted was me, actually- you had said that I was too afraid to go to a library because I might get shot (a shooting in a public space generally tends to be a mass shooting, which is why I commented about how it's poor taste to make a mass shooting joke in response to a statement) then responded with the "go die in a fire" after other users remarked it was hostile as well.

I'll take your comment about how it's going to be your last offense at face value- please be careful with how you engage online in the future!

Quite a shitty thing for me to say, especially viewed in the light of day (and sobriety).
