Reason: Rule 1 - Insulted someone as a "bald person", which made them retaliate against Osump by stabbing their eyes. Osump then went on to incite a lynch mob against the chaplain for "moth racism", which ended up having command perform a body swap into a moth. This has severely impacted the victim's ability to play the round for no valid reason. This is not proper escalation, you are obligated to back down in these kinds of situations where you are the instigator.

Why should this appeal be accepted?: heya, so the part of the note that is wrong is "against the chaplain" I AM the chaplain though. Also, if I may request an explanation of what I've done, from what I remember I've told Jeb they are a bald person, then called them ugly, then they harm me then we get in a little fight, you know little normal crew shenanigans, what I don't understand is well after all that during parts of the round he comes and stabs me multiple times and screws my eyes, I tried telling sec the first time it happened but they just... well ignored it (there was only one sec), a lot of things happened which I don't remember everything so correct me if I said something wrong, but doesn't them fuckin my eyes and stabbing me a lot with a spear or another object on my eyes multiple times justify me to well... be an ass to them? at first, I wanted to beat the shit out of them. Still, then as you can see from chat logs I called a vote to turn him into a moth and accused him of being a moth racist, don't get me wrong iv done some bad things. Still, I thought that what they had done in IC was fine for me to do to them in IC, I could've let's say harmed him or done other things to annoy them. Still, I decided to take that route which I thought was fine, In summary, tell me what exactly I've done wrong the whole experience from what still makes me think we had our fair share of "shenanigans"(also a conflict between me and a sec officer but that's fine).

Hey there! Thank you for making an appeal, first of all.

I made some minor mistakes regarding your ban text that I wanted to clear up. First of all, yeah you were the chaplain, small error by me. Second of all, "you are obligated to back down" does not apply here. Basically you must watch out what kind of response you choose, and make sure it's in proportion to how you were wronged. If the retaliation is way overdriven, then you are not forced to back down and take it, but do watch out that your response is not too overdriven.

Anyways, one full investigation on your claims later, and I feel that your response given the constant stream of harassment from Jeb was definitely justified. Even with your "creative" responses to his harassment, you were definitely in the right because Jeb did not want to back down away from you. It was a very messy situation, and I definitely didn't have the full picture of it by the time I placed the ban. I will retract your ban and your note as I feel it does not reflect the actual situation at all.

no prob bro, also you got me doubting myself during that round, but thanks for the full investigation (thought you already did that ) also does that mean the note will be removed since you are removing the ban too

PS: i was thinking of taking that into ooc as in staff but decided to ruin his day into making what he hated (aka me) a moth, was it a good creative and not overesculation idea good?

I had only joined for the latter third of the round, and I only saw the tail end of your interactions plus some pieces from individual logs and it did not look okay to me. After your appeal I did a much bigger investigation where I basically pieced together your entire round with Jeb from start to finish just to make sure, and it turned out I was wrong. Sorry about that!

Since your ban was incorrect, I also removed your note, so yeah it's gone.

As to if it was a good idea, well, it was a risky stunt for something that is usually much better resolved by ahelping something like "this person is repeatedly attacking me and not leaving me alone". If you would have pulled this off against someone who has done less to you, you would still be on the hook for griefing their round. Other things that would have influenced this are: how much fuel you had added to the fire, how much you had taken away from their round etc.

Basically, if you add more drama to a situation, then we assume you want this to happen, and we will let things play out as normal. And if the situation gets really out of hand, then one of you, or both will be on the hook for it.

However, this goes the opposite way too. If you really prefer not having shit slung at you, then the more you try to resolve a situation or remove yourself from it, the more administrative support you gain from us. We step in if someone just wants to ruin your round out of malice.

yep yep (tbh i just wanted to do it ic and try to roleplay it instead ahelp, and thought with what i know is that's uh enough and satisfying for me) but anyways thanks for the help you can close this
