I think that this map is pretty big and should fall into the same bracket as Deltastation, due to the z-levels and overall large size of most departments I don't think it functions as well on <50 population

It is pretty large.in general, but the actual inhabited space isn't particularly large in of itself. Most of the departments are concentrated centrally, and you don't usually have a reason to be on the second level except within your department. A lot of sub departments are even attached to central hallways.
By comparison, I find Icebox to be generally slower to navigate than Nebula at times. On Nebula, getting to most departments takes a relatively quick trip from a centralized point in the middle that is relatively small in size. Icebox has you circumnavigate the entire command wing before you can get to any section of the station if you aren't going to it via maintenance.

I agree that the icebox pop requirement should be raised.

i know im the one usually barking at people going off topic but can we get some wiki updates from contributors when maps drop. like literally just a picture of the map at the bare minimum. nebula is beautiful, i've played it a bunch, but i still haven't learnt it and i can't find a map of it. same for wawa.

Well, you're the only Wiki Master, so it's your fault
On a more serious note, try to brew your own crew of Wiki Masters by encouraging members of the playerbase to maintain the Wiki, while making yourself a visible source of information and guidance, as well as providing clear goalposts (ex, "We have to update the map pages", "We have to update the Heretic page") that you come across. When wiki'ing, I found myself a bit lost on how to do some stuff and, while I was getting help when I asked, I did feel a bit bad for asking for help so constantly hahaha
Also, besides Nebula, which maps need wikitaining? I got some spare time this weekend, so I can give them some love

Has the map selection system changed? I thought it forced maps if they hadn't been played for a few rounds so long as the requirements were meant which means that even if the late night terry dudes don't want to play a map they have to.

Me and timber agreed in headminbus that we aren't interested in this and in general for pop requirements

To clarify, I had also asked Inept/EoB to draw up a modern mapping config with numbers that better reflect what pop bands we should expect to see each map in.
Not that it would be used verbatim, but that our map configs are just a fucking mess right now in general and it would be nice having a set of numbers our Mapper-in-Chief feels best reflect the maps and what pop levels they shine the best. Such numbers would be useful in any discussion about the map configs themselves.
But with how map voting systems have changed over the past year or two or whatever, nothing makes sense to me how the config interacts with the voting system and how the voting system selects the maps to be played.
