MRP] RPR4/RPR6. As a non-antag doctor, led medical staff in hunting down an acting captain traitor that had given them HMS previously. Implicitly deputized by security to do so, but the arrest ultimately led to the traitor's death, revival, and execution when the HoS deferred to the group that had captured, killed, and then revived the traitor. Messy situation, but player reflects that more clearly communicating being deputized and announcing something like a 'citizen's arrest' would help in the future - acting as security as non-security means following through acting as security when you're being proactive about a threat. Why should this appeal be accepted?:
I believe this was a IC issue as the acting captain traitor gave my character a life altering disease with no cure that erases them from the timeline. additionally the hos (John Mcdough) was asked what should be done with the captain and eventually said he didn't care what happened with the captain

additionally another sec officer made a guillotine in medbay for the captains execution

A couple things i would like to note is that
- I had no access to security or perma i was only given a baton
- the acting captain had said nothing during the entire process if the captain wanted to be put in perma instead of executed i would have attempted to perma them

In conclusion this situation was a complete mess but i believe i was in the right to kill the captain for giving me hms (arguably worse then death in a lot of cases) Once the captain was killed then revived the hos stated they didn't care what happened with the acting cap meanwhile a different officer built a guillotine for the captains execution.

what i'm seeing here is that you did some due diligence towards getting permission, they hurt you, personally, directly, and so you got back at them w/ security gear and the help of the rest of medical - after that, without cuffs and then getting beaten down, they ultimately end up getting beheaded. do I have the picture there?

personally i feel freally bad about not bringing cuff i didnt want him to get beat into crit like that additonally i probably should have said its a citzen arrest or somelthing like that

you're allowed to hunt people that wrong you, but you need to do it within the procedures for security when it's not an immediate or global threat, or they haven't damn sure done one of the things that can merit an immediate execution - I know you know security policy quite well enough to have played a lot of it without incident

it was the same two pretty much ttilton saw cap give me hms so i needed to bring him to sec to prove cap did it and emerald helped me out with the hms besides that it was no other medical staff

we tried to get sec attention several times on the matter( i probably could have done this better) additonally hos was asked about exection or perma and he kinda said to do whatever

right. a lot of things got out of control there, but that seems like a good takeaway - communicating that you're deputized and acting as sec helps keep the tone of the whole thing more likely to stay within sec policy overall.

going back over it, I think this is a totally fair appeal, and I lost sight of the extent to which the 'dead dog' precedent applied to your situation -
they escalated against you by giving you HMS (which can just flatly round remove you by snapping you from the timeline,)
you went after them as a victim rather than just going out of your way to act as security,
and the other people who came along with you were responsible for their own actions.

I think this was a poor interpretation of your actions on my part - even on MRP, there's nothing that requires you to be charitable, proportionate, or less than lethal in going back after the people who've already done as good as murder you. IC issue.

I'm glad to remove the note - unless you've got any questions or stuff you'd like to have shared out here, I'll close the thread after giving a few days to be seen and update it when I log on to make the removal.
