Combat mechs deserve a nerf

Combat mechs are pretty overpowered at the moment, durands are basically a ticket to win, with multiple modules to defend against damage they become nigh unkillable.
Ive seen several roboticists now just make a durand in 20m and valid hunt antags for the rest of the shift, one mech requires at least 10 non mechs to kill and even then its a struggle.
theres no reason that a roboticist should be able to create a weapon to just win.

A nerf of less cell duration or less ammo capacity, would be good so that the mech user has to exit the thing every once in a while.

Combat mechs are in a weird place where it's kind of hard to justify ever actually making one apart from "because it's cool" but "it's cool" is often good enough motivation to have a feature.
If you wait until aliens or nukies are announced to be here, it's likely the mech isn't ready by the time you want to use it.

that is true, however any late game threats
aka trators who have spent time setting up stuff, xenos, blobs, and basically whatever the user feels like killing, ive seen far too many mechs just delete xeno infestations and blobs because they take hardly any damage and are quick to repair

i feel as if a repair speed nerf would be good for everyone because lets face it, no one likes being murdered by a mech user.

Mechs are a joke they get outplayed by literally every other piece of kit imaginable EXCEPT with the AC2. Good luck using your durand to hunt the Xeno nest when a single hunter just runs around behind you and instantly causes a critical failure.

If you're letting a hunter run behind you, then you're not that great of a mech pilot.

Open areas can exist, like on icebox. That's usually how you get hit and run to death by xenos.

Long hallways can also be a problem. The best place to fight is always in the tunnels.

Also, sometimes RNG just screws you regardless. It's not like mechs aren't prone to dying to some relatively bad luck.

yeah, getting behind them is the best way to kill them but the problem is actually doing that without being instakilled by 5000 rounds of ammo, i feel maybe (maybe) it should be against space law to build combat mechs unless approved by the RD or captain, because at the moment there's always that trator roboticist with his 4 posimechs ready to absolutely stop on the station with no resistance.
