Mummification

Sometimes you gotta immortalize great people (and pets). Why not the tried-and-true method of embalming a corpse and coating it in precious metals???

We already have salt, gold, sand, gems, bandages, this is the next logical step- honestly...

Step by step:
- Remove brain either by smashing it to bits or a more modern method.
- Remove organs.
- Dry 'em and store 'em.
- Keep the heart in there, though, it's important.
- Dry the body out with salt.
- Stuff the body with sand to make him/her look swole.
- Wrap the body up in bandages.
- Throw them in a sarcophagus with all their prized possessions, and beloved pet(s).

Yes/no to constructing burial chambers out of sandstone and laying traps to protect the station's finest?

This is...not half a bad idea for the Chaplain. If there's any way to get the Chaplain the required gear and work-space, that is.

Perhaps some minor, maybe Cult-related benefit, such as not allowing properly-buried bodies to be revived via the Raise Dead rune?

Random event that raises all Mummies back from the dead to exact their revenge!
Also if somebody gives me good sprites for mummy bandages (As a clothing item, gloves, feet, chest+legs, head etc.) and maybe sarcophagi then I'll code all this.

Mummy wrapping ok sure. Actually pulling the brain out, drying the body, stuffing it full of gold or any of that shit, I'd rather not.

Or wizards making mummies somehow, that'd be neat as well.

Well, it would be something to do in the long hours of boredom as Chaplain. Although, yes, maybe making it merely time-intensive is not such a good idea.
