Revamp to plumbing

So i have heard that plumbing is well... not so good right now. So i honestly think that it should get a revamp or at least a review for anything not needed to put less stain on things. Coders could do many things, like redo the whole system but that's to the extreme, rework how the chems mix and many other things. The thing is I don't know what is wrong with plumbing, all I hear is that people don't really like plumbing, so if you do know why please tell me and I'll update the post accordingly.

EDIT: Add septic tanks (maybe for the jannies to clean) and sprinklers.

Its perfectly valid, sometimes the ideas are the ones we pick up along the way.

Yesterday i learnt that there are different plungers for different kinds of faucets, so perhaps the mining plunger should really be one with a special attachment seperate to unclogging most common station equipment, which can be used to clean reagents from a pipe system that haven't emptied properly for engineering purposes of ensuring its pure by making it splash around the plunger-user end.
