I feel like it's broad enough to let us take actions when necessary, and its enforcement has been mostly sane so far. The only time I saw it get really tested was during the whole library debate, and that was a really complicated case dating multiple years.

I am not a fan of having straight up graphic smut in the library. I am okay with funny rancid or penis humor. The way I'd describe it is.. It lies in the difference between eroticism and pornography.
Content with light eroticism on a 18 server is vastly okay, in my opinion, assuming it doesn't cross any boundaries like involving other players and such..
Staight up porn is just a nono, it feels like toeing the ERP line a bit too close.

I think it honestly gets the job done. Rule 8 is fine from a players perspective and haven't seen many people complain about it.

I'm not particularly a fan of the smut because I've seen first hand how certain books were used to bully players. If we removed all books containing references to players I'd be fine with it.

i feel like rule 8 keeps all of the kiddie diddlers awawy from this server, to be honest. so lets keep rule 8 in tact, I know for sure that these manual people want to remove rule 8 so they can run trains, we must prevent this shit

Rule 8 good. Strong rule. Strongly enforced rule.

Did you know starting point for blatant rule 8 break is permaban? Powerful rule.

People e-sex all they like in private. Go to dedicated e-sex servers. Make local server, e-sex there. Codebase free to download. Server free to host. No judge. As long as not e-sex here.

If e-sex here? Then judge 'till the felinids come home. Appreciate fact felinids did not shit on own doorstep. Small things in life. Still permaban e-sexers.

Yeah I don't think there are strong arguments to be made that Rule 8 doesn't improve the server and culture.

I've seen what erp can do to this community and it results in a lot of fucking drama, cliques and anger.

Rule 8 seems to be fine where it is. I've heard arguments about getting rid of it or changing it and I would be happy to discuss these ideas further but so far I haven't really been persuaded.

Seeing as we had a recent community discussion about the library I am not especially interested in exercising any control over it right now. Perhaps midway through the next term we can take a look at how the most recent discussions impacted the community.

I've been satisfied with the enforcement of rule 8 so far. If ERP is your thing, there are multiple other servers that cater to it. Please don't bring it to ours.

For the library, I would like more tools to categorize and report books, but that's out of the scope of headminship. Illegal content and content violating rule 11 should be removed. If a book contains a player without their consent and it makes them uncomfortable, I think it is reasonable to delete it if they request it. Beyond that I think whether something stays should be decided on a case by case basis.

Seems fine as is with rule 8

if any book contains your character name and you are bothered with it I think you should just be able to ask an admin to remove the book and maybe speak with the writer about consent before adding people into your smut books.
