Seriously imagine the possibilities here, provided you could get genetics access, you could use it to do incredibly suicidal shit as tator and then re-spawn in genetics like nothing ever happened.

I did this a few days ago, autocloner was setup..scanned myself then went off to dick about in science where I didn't belong. Threw some minibombs at my target and failed horribly, died and autocloned.
Popped out of the cloner, scanned myself again, died again. I think I had like 6-7 "time of death's" before the round finally ended..with me in cloning again.

Or that dead man's switch, if that is still a thing. Anyway, not needed. Pester the RD to upgrade Medbay and scan yourself.
