*I apologize if this is done incorrectly, this is my first post.

Banning admin: Saegrimr.
Ban type (What are you banned from?): Server.
Ban reason and length: Metagaming. Permanently.
Time ban was placed (including time zone): About 7:30 PM (Eastern) 02/07/2015.
Your side of the story: Mister Toast (Toast33) dropped off a toolbox with tools and wire and insul. gloves off at the botanist desk when I was botanist. I saw the toolbox a little later, picked it up and saw the goodies inside and took them. I didn't even know that it was Toast who put it there, but I wasn't going to look a gift horse in a mouth. A little later more I was questioned by the admin why I was getting special treatment from the CE which was apparently Toast. Toast was at my desk at that time AFKing for something so I examined him since he was my prime suspect and he had the CE ID. Now I knew who gave me the toolbox so I told the admin about how we help each other out as by then it was par for the course. We have been playing SS13 for at least a year, probably more, together and we both don't even need to talk about what each other would want, we just give each other general stuff. If I am chemist, I give him medicine, if he is engie he gives me tools, etc.

Why you think you should be unbanned: I don't think I should be unbanned, but there isn't a "Lower ban severity" board. I think that getting perm banned for something that could have been avoided with a few PDA messages seems a bit much for me. I went and read rule # 5, but it just says "Wordlessly assisting your OOC friends (or harming your OOC foes) ICly is NOT cool and will be addressed harshly." I don't know what "addressed harshly" means on average for /tg/ admins, but permanently seemed a bit much so I made this to see if any other admins agree with me. And I completely understand banning people for this. You don't want people to make it even look like they are metagaming, I broke a rule there is no contesting that. Could you please just lower the ban to a month or two? And maybe define "addressed harshly" a bit more specifically, because I don't even know if this ban appeal is justified or not.

This here is exactly the problem.
This is a roleplaying game, and the two of you are skipping that in favor of something else. This has apparently been going on for months and noticed by other admins as well that you two were acting strangely charitable to eachother with zero words spoken.

For punishment, i'm particularly "harsh" on metagaming and metacomms, and this isn't the first ban either your friend has received for this kind of thing (which even noted you as a possible suspect at the time.)

As it stands the two of you can't be trusted to play on the server together, so the deal i'm willing to extend is that the both of you talk and figure out who wants to keep playing and the other will remain banned. After a significant amount of time the other one can appeal. Personally i'm in favor of you staying, due to your friends' history on this.

May I ask what a significant amount of time is, or is that not defined as of now?

At minimum i'd say a month.

We talked it over and we agreed upon Toast being banned for the month or so and me being unbanned. Should I get him to post to verify?
