What does /tg/ think of hippie station? They have become arguably just as or more popular as /tg/.

I think both the servers are fun and have their own meta culture to them.

Hippie Station has cool features but the players reminded me why I stopped playing on servers that are on the main BYOND page.

Hippie is sorta like /TG/ before extensive and unneeded gameplay and code changes were added. Hell they added Goonchem BEFORE /TG/ ever did and removed it based on player feedback and probably won't re-add it. Aka /TG/ Station where coders don't hold extensive power and are heavily regulated by player input. Onlything they have is /TG/ is the codebase but not many of the recent updates.

Hippie Station as a server seems cool, though I hate their wall sprites.

However, I find the playerbase to be worse than what you usually get on /tg/, I swear half of the playerbase metacommunicates. I know since I've seen it.

I will give credit where its due, it can be fun and movement is extremely smooth even at 300 ping, feels like I'm running it off a local server.

I like how hippiestation hedges their bets on dissing /tg/ and /tg/ code to get more players

It's funny because they're a downstream of /tg/ and use our code, including pretty much all of /tg/'s changes. :^)

Any oldfag knows just how downstream servers go, but i'm glad the shitty players are going to hippie

I've been playing on there a bit to get my SS13 fix. The admins, some of the players, and the coders are nice dudes, but gameplay-wise it might as well be Nox. There's not much they can do - if they banned all the greytiders, they'd lose half their playerbase.

It's pretty much the server where banned /tg/shitters like me go.

Actually not really, Lizards on Hippie are exactly similar to /TG/ hate and all.
Hippie as semi-good players and admins, less coder bullshit, terrible fucking walls, and not Paprika so that instantly makes the sever better.

I believe the headmin used to play on /tg/ lots, most of his videos were on /tg/ at any rate (you could see sybil in the window). The server itself seems alright, kinda like a goon server on /tg/ code tbh. And yeah the admins seem to do nothing but troll and cause shit the whole time, I mean hippies latest videos are basicly of him as an admin literally mowing down people with a lawn mower, giving himself health and respawning when he dies.

Still, there's obviously a market for that as goon has shown already.

administration feels nonexistent and act extremely immature in ooc

they have a looser definition of rp, sometimes feels like grief is allowed to some extent

the codebase is actually really great in a lot of places but in a lot of places it also feels really unfinished (plus it's missing some features /tg/ has now like pushing breath masks out of the way and jumpsuit rolling (unless they added that since i last played there))

runs smooth a lot of the time but when lag spikes hit they hit hard

FUCK the admin "events" (lel lets give a traitor the nuke code 5 minutes in and 50 tc :^]) (lel let's spawn invincible invisible antags with fireaxes for maximum SPOOK :^])

fuck the playerbase

i play there when i dont feel like playing tg for whatever reason and it's usually okay if i roll virologist so i can be isolated from other players
despite the glaring flaws i hate so much about it i would probably still recommend it if you're too stuck up about tg's salty community to just play tg

Hippie has to have some of the worst admins, literally act like asses even if you have a legitimate complaint though some admins are better than others.

Grey tiding is even worse on Hippie than /tg/ just for the fact that non-antag tiders will at any chance given raid the armory and gun down sec officers. But atleast their sever host.

One of the smoothest running severs like ever, everything feels like it's gliding on space lube

Objectionable changes when added to the sever will be reverted when players find the change unsatisfactory
(cough they added and reverted goonchem before tg did.)

Playerbase is mehish, granted you have a few genuinely funny players like Shirtless Dave who seems to be beloved by a lot.

Best way to sum it up is that it's a much looser on rules, but still has more of the older /tg/ content to actually say it's more /tg/ than /tg/ is. Coders don't have nearly as much power to influence code changes such as /tg/,lizards are still persecuted harshly with the term ligger.

Could be cause I'm closer to the sever's location than /tg/, have had less lag on Hippie than /tg/ but even taking into account shitty southern DSL.

I say the opposite, they make things exciting when rounds are boring. For instance I played a game of DnD where everything I did would effect my character in game.

besides the video of him mowing people down was a stress test, its not like that every round.
