I tried by installing Linux but the Internet Explorer dependency URL on the Microsoft site 404'd in the copy+paste dependency list I was using and I couldn't figure out how to get a working alternative so in the end I just bought a secondhand ThinkPad for pretty cheap. The performance is shit and it takes about 5 minutes to boot up but it's better than a Chromebook. Nowadays though I only use my gayman computer which moves faster than sound
