I think it's safe to say that the station announcements that one would get from a certain server is, very much against the whole MRP environment that is trying to be fostered on the campbell and manuel servers.

But besides that. Let's face it, nobody really likes seeing the giant walls of text that come from station announcements that are essentially nothing more than stale copypastas that everyone grew tired of years ago.

Sounds good to me. Hearing the bullshit or gamer words from the other servers is annoying as hell

it should at least be smaller text, but I suppose thats more of a code issue?

I've watched Common deteriorate into LRP off topic stuff one too many times (For varying degree's of time), from the cross station announcements, that I feel obligated to agree that something needs to be done on this subject.

Don't you have to specifically choose where the message goes now? If someone is just sending gamer shit towards Manuel on purpose, they should get their ass slapped.

You can either send it to one specific location or all of them.

if i have a highly intelligent and well thought out five second shitpost to transmit i send it to all stations

in other words im fine with mrp servers not being in the network if they want it

Everytime I tried one specific server in the past, the damn thing didn't even work so I figured those options were just jokes (until the moment someone fixes them) therefore you were meant to just send announcements to all servers at once anyways.

what concerns me is the lack of proper capitalisation on the communications console for these options

is there some sort of immersion field surrounding mrp stations that should not be broken at any cost? What the fuck happens if you see a message consisting of “NIGGER” x 25 on Manuel? Does everyone instantly die?

I only play on Manuel and honestly, I'm against this. I love receiving those announcements and it potentially being more of an IC facepalm situation which can be talked about.
Like, "damn, we know we aren't the most competent crew but look at these other stations, they're a fucking mess" and such.

I find it hilarious and it doesn't break inmersion for me. What's more, announcements in general give the feeling there's other stations with their own problems and crew out there ICly, while reminding you there's people having fun in the other servers OOCly. What's the harm in that?

Right now doing this will only isolate Manuel 100% from announcement network since Campbell hasn't yet gotten a considerable population for rounds to be more of a test with usually 8 people at peak. Can you really be that bitter about some text that pops up from time to time? Geez...

And there we got to the root of the problem.

Problem isn't LRP and MRP sharing the announcement network, but what's allowed to be written and shared to the stations with it.

It's fine, in my opinion. It's a healthy reminder for people to not take the game too seriously.

The number of times I've seen some unfunny assistant send the gamer word 50 times to MRP... This change can't happen soon enough.

We would be in favor of a code solution to separate station announcements from LRP and MRP servers. If anyone is thinking about PRing this we’d ask them to PM us and we will most likely approve it.
