Ban Reason and Length:Banned from AI/Cyborg - Killed two monkeys that were classified as human under its laws. Was reset shortly before being given the monkey law and went straight to shooting/shocking and venting the upload and did not make an attempt to stop after being given the monkeys are human law. Logged out and did not return during questioning.

Your Side of the Story:My laws got changed right as the monkey captain got knocked into crit. Furthermore the other monkey asked to be killed when he transformed into a monkey. I followed his orders when he was a human and killed him before the monkeys are human laws were uploaded, the captain got caught in the cross fire. I was going to leave the monkeys alone after the law change but didnt notice it until after he died.

Why you think you should be unbanned: It was a big misunderstanding and arguably the only victim here was the captain. It sucks that I killed him, but no other monkey died because of me as an AI. Furthermore, the other note I got regarding law 1 was something I was unaware of. I had played dozens of hours without being bwoinked by any admins for having my doors on the sat shocked. I play during high pop too so its not like there werent any admins on to tell me I was breaking a rule. I dont think the ban should be lifted immediately, but I dont think it should be a permanent job ban because one person died due to a misunderstanding and because I was unaware that the shock door thing was a rule.

The logs showed there was almost a full minute between getting the monkeys are human law again and you shocking the doors and trapping the captain followed by siphoning the room. Even then if a human tells you to kill them; you are still not allowed to directly harm a human. They can commit suicide if they really want to die. And even after the captain was dead you still did not unshock your doors or stop the siphon which could have led to more harm. You were also recently warned for blatant law 1 violations which is the reason I chose to apply this ban.

Again, the second person who died wasnt human when I killed him. I get that I fucked up with the captain, but the air siphon was in a tiny three tile room. That is not the same as siphoning the main hall or medbay to kill the monkeys.

I dont know how else to tell you that I was unaware that shocking the doors on an isolated part of my Sat had never come up before. When the admin told me to stop I immediately stopped and never did it again. I dont see how an isolated situation where no one was hurt or had there round affected serves as precedent for a job ban. I dont know how to make it up to you or the player I killed. I dont even know the length of this ban. What should I do to atone?

The captain was alive in the chamber and capable of crawling for quite a bit before he finally succumbed. He was still capable of opening the door too after your laws were updated. I watched him try to open the door but you kept it bolted and shocked despite him being human. As for the shocked doors on your sat in previous rounds - you should have known better to begin with.

Well I didnt and an admin informed me. The issue was settled amicably and I wont make the mistake again. I'm not arguing that I didnt make a mistake with the captain. I'm arguing that it was not done maliciously and that a permanent job ban does not equal the level of what occurred. I'm not asking for the ban even to be lifted tomorrow. I just think permanent is too much for a situation that was done out of a misunderstanding and effected only a single person.

Oh there is a misunderstanding here! This isn't a perma silicon ban! God no I wouldn't drop that on you for a first offense. It's only 2 days due to the two people you killed.

Oh thats perfectly reasonable. Sorry. I was worried it was perma. Thanks for clearing that up, I'll make sure to watch my laws like a hawk from now on.
