Your side of the story: I was playing normally and now 2 months later I look in my notes to see this.
Why you think you should be unbanned: This was a fault of the automated system, I would never consider using a CID randomizer or avoid any due punishment. This being my only note should be evidence that I have had no punishments I could try to evade let alone want to. I feel that this note is an unfair reflection on me and could potentially skew an admin's decision based on a one-time fault with an automated system.

Might I also add that around this time the ban evasion detection was also having frequent false positives.

You did indeed connect to terry with two different computer ID's with the same ckey on the 2018-03-09, you may have not done so knowingly but your ckey is tied to at least three computer id's and seems to switch between them quite often.

What operating system/setup are you using to run byond?

I use BYOND on 2 computers (that 3rd is probably from before I reset my desktop), now that I think about it I think this note is from a day where I was playing on my laptop and then switched to playing on my desktop. My desktop runs win 10 and my laptop win 8.1. With the reconnection only being a few minutes after disconnecting I can now see why the system would have marked me.

And just so that you know why the computer I play on changes often, I usually use my laptop when away from home or otherwise unable to use my desktop.

Its the alt cid bug.

Details: the ways byond gets the hardware info to generate cids aren't foolproof, so what ends up happening is everybody has two cids, their normal one, and the one that gets generated when one of the hardware api calls fails, sometimes the randomizer check can see the bugged one in one connection, and the normal one in the next connection.

Looks like this is resolved.
