Okay so what if instead of spray-cans, conversions and killings, we have perm-pax, telescopic batons, no destruction and we have four sides everyone has at round start (meaning no conversions)

The goal is in 20 minutes, make as much of the station yours
how do we do this?
With crayon grenades.
Everyones given a device that spawns crayon grenades of their colour (Blue, Green, Red, Pink) at no cost.
The goal is to throw these grenades and paint the station your colour, whoever has the most of their station by 20 minutes wins.

I really just want something like gangs back...

clock cult is just gangs but instead of guns they have magic stuns, cuffs, and teleports, and no real cooldown on conversion. And instead of making their own base they have an entire z-level complete with sleepers and all seeing cameras. And instead of getting caught early on due to spraying gang tags they just declare war and get even stronger.

What you are suggesting is basically nothing like gang at all

But honestly, this has more connection to gangs than any other game mode and the concept of gangs helped me think of it

Maybe gangs should be group antagonists (4 people per gang or so) without conversion who have as an objective to destroy the other gangs and escape alive, with the influence and equipment system of old gang.

Just needs a way of identifying other gangs, something that can be bought for influence.

that's why I said perm-pax, you literally can not hurt another person conventionally and admins can always punish those that make bombs
