a recent incident occured that a person in the discord got banned for posting nsfw stuff in a public channel and it was directed towards me. he got banned by admin #1. the next day, the person who got banned appealed to a different admin, admin #2. admin #2 claimed his appeal was convincing and unbanned him. also this so called person is going to be banned now as i complained to a headmin but that's beside the point.
bans shouldn't be appealed via pms, even if they should be. they should be appealed to the original banner or a headmin but this is a quickdraw way of doing it so...

bans on discord must be appealed on the forums!!!!

I agree discord bans should be appealed on the forums.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with this. The incident only really happened because a few bans were lifted on goofball and other people by non-headmins so I just thought it was something similar to that in that he was just banned hastily for something during the night where the server had like 60 people in discord voice.



From what it stands, Arm just said you have to appeal to him directly? I don't have a problem with appealing on the forums but there is legit no formalized process for discord bans/unbans as of now.

I'm just gonna repost from admin chatter that i don't like having the people argue that they have free speech and get to antagonize other people because the rules say they technically can't NOT antagonize other people durr

our game revolves around conflict does our discord have to revolve around three people starting conflict

I mean if people were given free reign on free speech on discord it would devolve into a shouting match.

I'd like to see people give reasons for their bans as well. Most bans are stuff like "bye" or blank.

It doesn't have to be complicated just "Porn links in non NSFW channel" or "Ping abuse".

we should probably place a ban on meme bans if we're gonna appeal them on the forums

Not many but the point is you might as well have a single subforum for all discord and irc things. Might add forum moderator issues too.

I don't think the bans will come in so often that it requires a separate subform. It's rare that the ban appeals forum is amassing appeals that I'm sure it can accomodate these too.

I dunno I think having a misc subforum for everything that isn't the game would be reasonable but it doesn't matter

I wouldn't be adverse if such a thing if it was felt needed. I just wonder if we'll really deal with it often enough that it is going to be required.

We dont need a separate forum for this. Just make the standard procedure for bans from discord, IRC, etc be to appeal on the forums

And in my case, as I'm sure you've already heard, I had a ban placed on me over personal disagreements on another discord.

If you want to force users to go through a formal process of appealing a ban on the forums, there should be proper standards on placing the bans in the first place.

People posting about your buddy when they post lolicon/shotacon content is inevitable, and you shouldn't get to ban another discord's host from the official cord simply because they happened to have only warned a guy for talking to other people about it instead of banning him on the spot as you'd have liked.

Especially not after they expose your hypocrisy by pointing out that the witch hunt took place on the platform that you're an admin at, that you're the one with power to ban the guy who launched the witch hunt in the first place. Why exactly would the first course of action be demanding that some other guy gets banned on another discord instead, for telling the witch hunting guy about things? Then ban said other discord's host when they refuse?

I made a very angry and large post about sligneris faking feeling bad about their actions so people would stop getting mad at them but i talked with them on discord about it so this policy thread is saved

i still am not really for moving it over to the forums but no other headmins have stuck their head in this beehive so

other headmins don't wanna get their hands dirty with this thread and I don't wanna change it so
