/tg/Station 13

Used to be called Bloodline Champions a while back but now reworked and given a slightly brighter and less gritty cartoon gladiator design instead of the "ancient Chinese/Aztec bloodsport" design of Champions.

Its all of the exciting button mashing from fights in MOBA games without the laning/farming/itemizing/skilling that takes up most of an average LoL/Dota2 round. Rounds are 2v2 or 3v3. Each round is set with a 2 minute timer. After the timer runs out the arena starts collapsing so the players are pressed in together and forced to fight rather than running and hiding. Skills are all learned from the start and each ability is targeted to an area or direction. There are no click to auto-aim castable abilities. Skill use is limited by cooldowns only instead of mana. To add some variance, certain skills and each character's "ultimate" ability are gated behind a building energy meter that increases on successful hits scored on opponents. Healing is powerful, but limited. If you take enough damage to lose a segment of your life bar, your max HP is capped with that segment missing. This means if you get beat down to a sliver of life, you can't heal back up to your full roundstart HP again. This makes healing a very active process and damage mitigation/mobility very important.

Balance is pretty good, the character pool is decent but not big enough to be confusing or daunting.

i enjoy playing the dumb meathead orc sometimes and the spear guy is nice

Friend bought this for me way way way waaay back when it was very new, we played maybe 30 matches together before just kinda stopping and I think I got some kind of early supporter bundle or something for it

I heard it's really making a comeback though, is it worth it to try to get into it

It just went f2p after the early access stuff ended. Its been super easy for me to get in, matchmaking is really fast, hero buy-ins have been pretty quick without dropping cash.

I suppose that since I played BC before and traditional mobas besides made it pretty easy as well.

Just realized I have no reliable way to contact half of you.
