[ChangelingRain] Using Powers to Self Antag
Byond account and character name: Owegno - Doesn't matter
Admin: ChangelingRain/Joan
Time and Server(Bagil or Sybil) incident occurred: Sybil, 08/06/2017.
Round ID's: 74317, 74320 and 74341
This is pretty simple. I decided to look at the admin logs of a day that Joan had a bunch of connections on as I suspected they were using their powers to self antag and I was right. In the single day that I looked at I found that they had used their powers to trigger blob multiple times and then take one of the blob roles (74317), and in two other rounds in that day they forced Clockcult, spawned themselves on Reebe, culted themselves, equipped themselves with CC gear and then deadminned themselves (74320 & 74341). This is all pretty blatant abuse and I don't think anyone would disagree with me.
Relevant logs are here:

https://atlantaned.space/newSS13tools/r ... &logs=true

Additionally if anyone has the logs of any other incidents of admin abuse by Joan I would be happy to add them to this thread if you point me to them.

She's going to use the excuse of "i was testing stuff", likely disprovable by using the testmerge list.
Daily reminder we have a test server with admin given to all coders, and that you can test stuff easily that way.

So, just a hazard of a guess, but something tells me this isn't a test.

There are two cases of not removing the cult status afterwards, both of which they deadmin themself instead.

Re: [ChangelingRain] Using Powers to Self Antag
This was brought up to me by Repukan when I was discussing the state of Clockcult.
I remained quiet on the issue until now as I thought it was Joan just testing ClockCult.
It's clear that it was more than once and Joan has made themselves into Clock Scarabs to boost and increase ClockCult chances of winning. And I have been apart of rounds that she has forced ClockCult AND added themselves in as a Scarab. I didn't hear about any testing that went on.

I'd like to mention that I was around on many of these rounds, and I (Xhuis) was the one playing the role of Ratvarian Tech Support. If you can cite logs of her doing the same thing, I'd be happy to retract my statement, but other admins can vouch that I was the one doing that, not Joan - even in recent testmerged rounds (even one yesterday!) instead of the ones at this time period.feem wrote:I was present in at least one or two of these instances in which Joan spawned in as a cultist or a scarab (named "Tech Support") to teach people how to actually play the heavily reworked testmerges present at the time.
Note that I'm only speaking of the specific instances I witnessed.

Re: [ChangelingRain] Using Powers to Self Antag
What made you suspicious of Joan making themselves into an antagonist to begin with? Are there any major events you can point to, or a single major event that roused your suspicion?
And what information did you use to deduce what days this was taking place?
Perhaps you were looking for timeframes in which a majority of the administrative team was inactive?
I'm not trying to defend anyone's actions, I'm just curious, and the more evidence, the better.

Quite a few players had this feeling since joan would show up and suddenly clockcult.MrAlphonzo wrote:What made you suspicious of Joan making themselves into an antagonist to begin with? Are there any major events you can point to, or a single major event that roused your suspicion?

I mean, I believe in coincidences but I don't TRUST coincidences.
I never even mentioned my suspicions but I am not surprised someone had the same feelin'. I heard it before too.

I just used the ban DB to see what days they connected, and selected the most recent day (at the time I looked) that they had a lot of connections on and searched every round ID and got lucky.MrAlphonzo wrote:And what information did you use to deduce what days this was taking place?

Re: [ChangelingRain] Using Powers to Self Antag
You know, I dug into the logs for that blob round. Here's everything suspicious as it relates to joan in order, starting from the first trigger, which happened right after the original Random Event blob died.

She then triggers blob three more times.

Finally, she gets blob, and she stops hitting the blob button right after she gets it. Really makes you think.

Round continues on, then Joan decides "I want fiber blob"

Wanna guess how she does this? No need, here's how.

And after she gets the blob she wants, she mops up the evidence.

Here's the list of people who were blobs round-end
GAME: Blob Overminds: Blob Overmind (884)(CleverBoy12), Blob Overmind (745)(KingPhilipIII), Blob Overmind (260)(Xhuis), Blob Overmind (700)(PKPenguin321), Blob Overmind (855)(ChangelingRain), Blob Overmind (760)(Armhulenn).
You've got:
CleverBoy12, the original random event blob(I checked, it was through the Random Event system)
([02:56:05] GAME: Random Event triggering: Blob (/datum/round_event/ghost_role/blob))
([02:56:39] GAME: CleverBoy12/(Blob Overmind (884)) was spawned as a blob overmind by an event.)
KingPhilip, first player to get a joan-blob.
([02:58:55] ADMIN: ChangelingRain/(Joan Lung) has triggered an event. (Blob))
([02:59:33] GAME: KingPhilipIII/(Blob Overmind (745)) was spawned as a blob overmind by an event.)
Xhuis, second player to get a joan-blob(Known friend of Joan's)
([03:01:02] ADMIN: ChangelingRain/(Joan Lung) has triggered an event. (Blob))
([03:01:47] GAME: Xhuis/(Blob Overmind (260)) was spawned as a blob overmind by an event.)
PKPenguin321, ADMIN, 3rd person to get a joan-blob
([03:02:00] ADMIN: ChangelingRain/(Joan Lung) has triggered an event. (Blob))
([03:02:41] GAME: PKPenguin321/(Blob Overmind (700)) was spawned as a blob overmind by an event.)
Joan, admin abuser, 4th person to get a blob.
([03:02:47] ADMIN: ChangelingRain/(Joan Lung) has triggered an event. (Blob))
([03:03:31] GAME: ChangelingRain/(Blob Overmind (855)) was spawned as a blob overmind by an event.)
Finally, Armhulenn. Wondering why his logs weren't up there? That's because after all the others, they gave themselves blob after deleting their mob via ghosting themselves and hitting the blob button, hoping to roll it, and deadminned right after rolling it. Had they not been lucky, I bet they would of immediately hit the button again until they got it.

There should probably be a clarification of the policy for random event antags ("Do you want to play as ______? Yes/No").

Re: [ChangelingRain] Using Powers to Self Antag
I'm not sure how serious you might want to take my testimony but.
I've asked another admin multiple times about this. During old cult, I would check adminwho and see that Joan would deadmin and and not appear in who.
After the first couple of times in which clockcult happened, I thought it was weird. So I took to immediately suicidng to observe and track the cultists. I noticed then, in further rounds, that whenever Joan had deadminned and it was clock cult, the ghost notification for the first cogscarab made during those rounds would not appear. I checked with other players to see if this was in my side, and they could confirm too.
Apparently, Joan had also forbidden other administrators from taking roles in gamemodes they forced.
This is all something I brought up to Jmad during a conversation. I think I might have pictures in my computer, but I'm at work right now and won't reach it until tomorrow.

Heads should be rolling over this, there's no clarification needed here. You are not dumb enough to really think that someone hitting the spawn antag button and hitting yes on the poll for it thought it was okay, right?bandit wrote:There should probably be a clarification of the policy for random event antags ("Do you want to play as ______? Yes. I testify on this.D&B wrote: This is all something I brought up to Jmad during a conversation. I think I might have pictures in my computer, but I'm at work right now and won't reach it until tomorrow.
Repukan brought this up to me before, and we have both brought this up on seperate occasions to other admins which may have set off the logging and investigations.
I kept quiet on it at the time.
But it's clear that it's using her powers too far, even using it on Blob and artificially inflating Blob's chances of winning.

There was. It was stated that repeatedly doing it might get you in trouble but in general being admin doesn't preclude you from getting selected as antag or for an event as long as it was done via rng.

Oh, to clarify, the round with all the blob shit wasn't a blob round, it was traitor, but the round went long enough that the original blob(CleverBoy12) was an RNG spawn. When he lost, she started the force spawns.

Re: [ChangelingRain] Using Powers to Self Antag
In all seriousness: While we are all putting ourselves on the chopping block for saying yes to antag prompts we triggered. I've done it myself (way back, when I actually played)
Its at most borderline, depending on how often and intent and only really means something here in the context of the blantaint self antagging joan did.
I can't speak for the headmins, but to me if this complaint just had the blob thing it would be unlikely to have amounted to much.
Lets not get all sidetracked here. Saying yes to a rng prompt as admin is minor to the making yourself cult thing.
That being said, goof, you are free to open up an admin complaint for the arm blob thing, maybe ausops and kor disagree.

Re: [ChangelingRain] Using Powers to Self Antag
This, yeah. Open one up or drop it, ya know. This thread is about joan.MrStonedOne wrote:In all seriousness: While we are all putting ourselves on the chopping block for saying yes to antag prompts we triggered.

I received a complaint about joan self-antagging as clockcult and blob a month ago or so. What I said then was given the constant clock testing and two headmins being online when blob was being rolled at a somewhat long round length, it was likely I couldn't prove malicious intent without knowing context. I clearly didn't read the logs too carefully, since I missed Joan editing vars to roll blob chems for free. However, PKP apparently wanted the hour and half round to end quickly for further clock testing by Xhuis next round and there was clock-testing next round. That might explain the worrying idea that two headmins and a then-trialmin rolling for or taking blob spots.
There's also some stuff involving Joan abusing headmin testpr remote privileges to sabotage clock and gang PRs that I wasn't aware of until now.
I'm gonna perma joan mostly on that.
They did do many other things for the server, it's likely they will return but not as an admin. What happens to their maintainer rank I'm not sure but Cheridan will handle anything code related.

Re: [ChangelingRain] Using Powers to Self Antag
To recap:
They varedited their own blob so they could reroll until they got the chems they wanted, they kept pressing the blob button until they got blob, evening saying so in asay, they on at least two rounds, made themselves clock cult, and they admitted to intentionally test merging pull requests in a broken state to drive support for their closure.
While yes, they made it clear they did not want to be admin, abusing your admin rank is not an acceptable way to get yourself deadmined, asking is. and abusing your remote privileges in bad faith is especially bad.
