Verhoeven was making fun of the book with his starship troopers movie.

The book is a very pro-military political essay with tiny bits of story added.

I understand it goes over your head if you're a kid, but how can you watch that movie now and not think to yourself "this is satire"

also it is satire of militarism and jingoism in general, it's not aimed at America specifically, don't be so sensitive jeez

It was called 'Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy'

You know the scene in the first film where they're defending whiskey outpost on Planet P?
In one of the missions you have to take and defend whiskey outpost from a swarm of Arachnids, it's great.
