I've never had the opportunity to play a tabletop roleplaying game. I've tried /tg/ a couple of times but it's never appealed. I learnt about SS13 on /v/.

What's fine is /tg/station's culture right now. I don't want to defend 4chan outside of the capacity for sincerity and creativity its anonymity and ephemerality creates. It's much better than Reddit in that sense. But yes, it's a tedious, dumb shithole filled with contemptible people. Neither Reddit nor 4chan is the optimal system but at least 4chan has the semblance of a culture.
