I guess, though it's still pretty annoying to be knocked out of a round in its opening minutes. Besides, putting on a pair of glasses is more kosher than making toxins. It's the difference between putting your energy gun in your armour slot as the HoP and raiding the armoury, in my opinion.

this is probably a good compromise since using your medhud implant to make blue glasses is objectively worse than just implanting it and wearing normal sunglasses
I rather like this, since it means that, in theory, it could be done with any HUD implant (that has an injector of some sort, so as not to circumvent the limitations from surgery). Injecting a set of regular shades would get you these glasses; injecting a set of sunhudsec could get you a set of purple sunglasses with both HUDs (based on the existing sec+medhud eyepiece, though that would likely be too much in sunglasses form). I don't currently know how to create sunglasses that can be altered with another item, but I can look into it if this idea proves popular (and I really should, since "turn X object into Y object with addition of Z object" must be important as all hell...).

The Medshades have been merged! Thanks, AnturK. Based on the poll, a significant majority of forumgoers who've been in this topic want them to be added to the CMO's loadout, but since adding them to the code has caused quite a bit of faff, I'm going to wait a couple of weeks, maybe a month at most, before I try to find a home for them ingame based on discussions taking place here. Thanks for your support and criticisms here, people.

Yes, this was a great "quality of life" change. Next up, science and engineering shades!

Yeah I'd say make it so that you can take an implant and add them to the shades, that seems pretty reasonable to me.
You could do it with other implants and make it possible to remove an implant from an exiting pair of sunglasses HUD so you can swap out the implants.

x-ray sunglasses are really gonna be fun

Why does everything have to be glasses? If people can't use flashes to kill the CMO, they'll just make a stunprod or make chemical deathmixes or whatever other nasty shit.

having fucking 7 options in the poll is just to make it look less like everybody hates it.
logically the people who wanted it in the ert did not want it on cmo, where it actually does something. adding only add to the code is basically no in the same form, as they simple believe adding it to the code is harmless. if you want fucking "maybe" you can just not vote. 19 don't want it on fucking cmo if you add it all up.

There are infinite permutations of how and where to place the item. That does not make all of those options that are not "give them to the CMO" no votes.

I was going to say something along these lines but you did it for me but I don't want it to look like you're the only one that feels that way so I made this post
Less shitposty: seriously, "I like the idea but not with [X]" isn't a way of padding the poll to look nicer, it's a way of saying "I like the idea but not with [X]"

I mean if it's a vanity item or a reskinned medhud for the CMO then it would be pretty neat.
I hope he pursues the cosmetic route instead of pretending like it will give him any actual advantage since CMOs usually get cucked by everything but flashes [even revheads have a no-glasses-required stun <spraycan>]

Well yeah but he's proposing they be HUD+sunglasses, not HUDglasses. I don't see the point of that.

Personally, I think we should remove health HUD sunglasses from the code and instead just add regular sunglasses to CMO locker.
Since CMO already starts with a health HUD autoimplanter, there's no real need for snowflake hybrid items.

seriously though in what alternate universe do our validhunting, wounded-slaying, demure, seductive aggressors need sunglasses in addition to their huds

I've been looking at this on and off for a few weeks, but it's to my understanding that there's a feature freeze right now, so I'll get back to it soon.

I'm not sure who gave it to them in the first place, let alone put one in every single locker they have, but they're well-associated with the department, especially since they started appearing in their art.
