If you're going to play secret undetectable murderman, there's much better options than the dual esword.
Also I did make the change before dismembermemes were a thing. Eswords got a huge buff from that change.

Ai can't track your new ID I don't think, the mask prevents that.
Alternatively you just go literally anywhere and solo pick off the crew one at a time. Its not that hard to stuff a double sword in your bag, pull it out and isnta-KO anyone you want, stuff it back into your bag and go back to doing whatever. This isn't real life. Sound doesn't travel. You can kill somebody a room over and nobody will hear you. The idea that "it makes you super obvious and isnta-valid" only makes sense if they're literally running up and down the halls with it out. As is, its an uninteresting item given for entirely too cheap and just encourages uninteresting gameplay while avoiding giving viable counters.
If Oranges is so sure it needs to stay over all objections then I want to hear why he finds it so interesting and exciting that it needs to stay.

Yeah it's not like you can't just turn it off and pocket it when you're done 3-shotting your random victim. The MASSIVE DOWNSIDE of having it out all the time is mostly self-inflicted.
Also are we really ok with the fact that the main counter to double eswords is the
extremely intuitive corpse-throw?

If we are keeping it bring back holos n shit. Don't couch too much of the danger of traitor into one item. Tall poppy syndrome and shit another nerfer will come for it then we will have an even worse idea take its place.

Unfortunately when I looked at nerfing them by removing their block chance from thrown objects (i.e. floor tiles, bolas, etc) I encountered the dread monstrosity that is throwcode.
Bolas actually bypass the block chance entirely at the moment and everything else is subject to the 75% block chance but sometimes deals damage even through the block.
Basically its a tangled mess of shitcode thats way above my expertise to fix.

the main counter to double esword is just mobbing the traitor until someone gets lucky, really. Even a 2 on one can be a huge disadvantage for someone with just a melee weapon, regardless of block chance both of them are going to be playing against you in the game of who can click who the fastest and with the best luck. All it takes is one disarm and it's dead city for traitor.

Reminder also that if the traitor doesn't have his double dongs out one good insight roll and taser and he's out of commission.
