i can understand backlash against ads in a larger community, but in a small community like this one, ads are for the best.

it'd be most efficient if the site was self sustaining for the host, so the host doesn't have to pay as much out of pocket, this helps alleviate that cost for the host.

I literally donate every month so that the server is self supporting without this shit, which is why people are getting hacked off.

Yeah the ad revenue is minor and there's no point other than filling your own pocket since the servers are already funded. It'd take a long fucking time to make anything.

It looks a bit disjointed when theres an ad, then a comment, then an ad again, then the rest of the comments.

The bottom one isn't an ad, its a player supplied and designed banner.

It can't be clicked, and it wasn't designed to be purely for singulo, but nobody else stepped up to get a banner.

Adblock/Adblock Plus (different programs) for your browsers, AdAway for your rooted Android phone (may work better than the Adblock Plus app). You may need to consider additional filter lists. After disabling all my adblockers, I get seemingly random ads, some getting more specific when I do a little more browsing on Amazon or such.
